I live in NY so I have my fair share of haters as well. I just tell them that I don't have time to waste on idiots who argue about something they didnt even read. (GFY smirk optional) Anyone I've spoken to who has read the Wells report, haters included, agreed that this was nonsense.

Michael McCann said this is all a red herring. From a legal standpoint, how did Brady destroy evidence that the NFL had no right to unless Brady willfully turned it over anyway. All these arguments that Brady have destroyed his court case with his cell phone are bunk. It would only matter if the facts of the case were going to be argued in court which they won't.

Unfortunately, in the court of public opinion, this will destroy Brady's image forever for a large segment of this country.

I just hope whatever judge gets is good at tuning out public opinion. (I know I know their not supposed to, supposed to be fair ) but I would think everyone including judges has seen all this information leak. I just hope their paying attention to how much false information has been released and not corrected.

Yes, I'm referring to the decision to one up the other side on the selection of venue, but in this instance I'm also referring to the court of public opinion.

Brady will win the court battle but right now he has already lost the war for his integrity.

1. Public opinion doesn't matter, and it will ebb and flow, depending upon what game the NFL plays with a release on a given day. With regards to the phone, for example, we already know that Brady offered to help the league with the data, and the league decided not to follow that up. Florio's already pointing that out.
   
2. Venue matters.

More people care about Brady's phone than Ray Lewis' white suit.

Now Tom can make a case for defamation for sure.

That is what Florio's column tonight was all about even though the real facts of the case do not bear it out. He nailed it.

The NFL has always had the edge in the battle for public opinion, in terms of getting in the first shots.

It's on the offensive
It can order the other side not to speak (see football numbers)
It can pressure the big media

The Brady camp has been winning the aftermath arguments. In the end, if this is actually heard in Federal Court, what's happened so far isn't likely to matter all that much. The court will uphold/strike down Goodell, and public opinion will eventually follow that decision.

My point was that once again, we hear the real truth after the bomb has been dropped. That's been the case all along.
Yes, there have been ups and downs in the media battle, but there's no doubt in anyone's mind that the NFL has gotten the better of them in that regard, and it's not even close.

He asked for the texts on the phone and destroying the phone potentially (and it seems like it happened ) destroys the texts, so no you don't destroy the phone. I would fight hard to keep from having to turn over the phone, but that is different from destroying it. I'd like to hear the explanation for this from the Brady camp because now there is no good explanation. All we are hearing now from anyone outside of NE is that Brady is a cheater and destroying the phone proves it. I think Brady did nothing wrong here, but destroying the phone makes it real hard to mount an argument in favor of Brady. Maybe there's a good explanation and if so let's hear it. Yeah, the I think phone is a red herring, but to anyone who has not invested any time in understanding what has been going on it is red meat.

With the NFL, you will always hear the truth after the bomb drops, rather than before. It's the nature of the beast. The accusations come before the defenses, the deck is stacked in favor of the side that can impose a gag order, and the media laps up controversy.

Just remember Bountygate became an embarrassment for Goodell in the end, and not to the 'defendants', as did the Rice case and the Peterson case.

Brady's team needs to change the rhythm of this.
