And POOF! There Goes the NFL Complaint About The Cellphone Up in Smoke!

But did brady really "destroy" his phone? Obviously the NFL used that language because it would look bad.

But maybe Brady simply changed phones and turned his old one in. No longer has it.

If this ordeal has taught us anything its dont believe what the media is putting out there. Its calculated leaks by the nfl to dictate public opinion

As for the NFL's timing, they were getting crucified yesterday for Junior Seau's daughter not being allowed to speak at his hall of fame induction. Yeah, I know the NFL has no authority over the HOF, but let's be serious. Now nobody is talking about that anymore or ever will be.

BS. It was smart, and ethical. If Nixon had a public bonfire on the White House lawn burning the tapes, he would never had to resign... Brady offered to provide his side of communications to Jastremski and McNally that they already had from the company provided phones that contained their end of the conversations. Attorney Yee said they offered to provide that, and did so, as would be done under rules of evidence in legal Discovery.

I wouldn't trust these unspeakable clowns in the NFL Offices. They have now demonstrated plenty of example,s including this "revelation", as examples of pure character assignation
Lovely! Comparing him to Nixon is good for Brady how?

I again will say, i was on bradys side until today.

I will laugh my ass off if the phone still exists and the Brady bunch suckered Goodell into inferring that they destroyed it and basing his punishment off of that.

Unlikely, but not wildly. We are talking about shark lawyers here.

At any rate, the phone itself is a non-issue. The court will see that.

But why destroy it at all!
Destroying things can be fun.

Ask any smart kid who grew up bored what they did with their first chemistry kit. Imagine what they can do now with the internet...glad it wasn't available when I was young. :D

my one question: During the appeal process, who's the smartest person in the room (or team)?

Again there isn't any proof that any air was taken from the footballs so until someone shows me scientifically that a "crime" was committed the rest of this is just a continuation of the NFL scrambling to protect itself from its self inflicted scandal.
Good 'ole Roger covered that in his 20 page document. Basically says the IGL doesn't account for the total deflation and says a significant amount of the deflation had to be done by a person.

Anyone know where I can get one of those shirts that was going around awhile back that said something like "if you don't like the patriots than you probably won't like me and I'm ok with that". I could really use it right now, cut a few conversations before they start. Lol
I live out of state so not much Patriots support around here, just since this news broke already heard a couple "why does your team always have to cheat" and "i can't stand Tom Brady he's a arrogant cheater" etc.
Tomorrow will be another fun day at work!

CNN this evening: Brady Hid Evidence; Destroyed His Cell Phone
Like I said its going to be painful dealing with this in the short term. However the facts are on our side and just like we saw in the weeks leading to the NFL being finally pressured into their brash and heavy handed course of action, the tide is going to turn as the truth is finally revealed in future court proceedings where the NFL will be forced to disclose their ineptitude and subsequent maleficence.

BTW- NPR's first take on the story was strictly parroting the NFL party line, as will everyone's first take. Think of it as the NFL's high water mark in Brady's war. Sometimes you have to take a punch in order to get inside, and the future court cases are going to be Brady's way to the inside

Meh, just do what i do and hold up 4 fingers and tell them to GFY

Florio hit it out of the park.

A shrewd PR stunt by the NFL.

Not going to happen.

Brady testified under oath at the Appeals hearing.

I see it 2 possible ways:

1. Brady is baiting Goodell and the NFL into acting irrationally, making public what the Patriots and their fans have known for awhile (8 years), and making it perfectly clear to an impartial third party how corrupt and whimsical the decision making process is at the top of the league. By rule, he cooperated as much as he needed to, and the NFL upheld another "more probable than not" assumption.

2. After months of knowing the situation and consequences, along with as much legal advice as he had, Tom decided to incriminate himself unnecessarily. He sat idly by, twiddling his thumbs for an eternity, not knowing what was going on, then became panicked at the last possible minute, ignored all the circumstances and trashed his phone as if he were throwing the murder weapon in a dumpster.

Hmmm, let's use that phrase again..... which is "more probable than not?"
