I agree with Michael Holley. This isn't about Brady anymore

Although I think there are many in the League office who are convinced Brady is guilty, this whole thing has stopped being about him anymore. Now it is about the League saving face. I think they absolutely want Brady to cave and accept a punishment and admit guilt not because they feel he is guilty, but to say "See the Wells Report did uncover the truth" and all this six months of foolishness was justified. It is the only way Goodell comes out of this remotely well.

Based on the NFL actions today, it is clear that this fight is the NFL vs. the NFLPA. Goodell and the league are trying to assert their authority and change their record in court. I wonder if they will win the jurisdiction fight though.

Incognito part II.

It's all about R. Stokoe Goodell trying to save his own ass vs. doing the right thing. Patriots owner PudgeBob ShortPants should be slapped for enabling this horrific farce. I'm sick to my stomach.

On a serious note, how would things be substantially different today if he had tried to fight? Yes, Goodell cited the Patriots' acceptance of the penalties, but short of filing a lawsuit (which would also have a high bar to clear, since teams aren't normally allowed to sue the NFL), the only recourse for the team penalties would have been . . . to appeal to Goodell.

Incognito said some racist ****, This is different, all brady did was play in cold weather.
...and told coaches to read a rule book.

It would've made all the difference in the world. Whatever the official outcome might've been is irrelevant. What MATTERED is the fact he threw his own franchise and entire fan base under the bus. He should've remained defiant and the fact that Goodell used his capitulation against him is the perfect irony.

I don't understand why RK felt compelled to do anything. Why he couldn't have spent the spring and summer saying "No comment" or "We're weighing all our options". Why did he have to go on TV and pathetically fall on his sword. True, it might not have made any difference at the end but sheesh he gave up any ability to see how things played out.

The bolded part has stuck in my craw and resonated with me the most through this entire fiasco.

Kraft decided that he was loyal to the NYFL and the billionaires club over his franchise and us fans.

Furthermore, the fact that it was reported (not too long ago) that a select few of the owners were pressuring the omissioner to stand firm on the punishment, underscores the disappointment I have in regards to Kraft's decision.

Roger Goodell is trying to build his credibility by destroying the career of a person with credibility. Goodell's clearly not been paying attention to the NFL since Brady entered.

Another grave disappointment. I'm done expecting any kind of positive outcomes. I'm now assuming the court case will also be devastating to any remaining shred of dignity Tom has left.

Go **** yourself Bob and Roger, straight from the heart.

It was ncver about brady. Nothing was done in the first place and Brady isn't even accused of doing anything.

and hasn't apologized for it
