They have to say something so it's better to say this than we agree with the NFL. Kraft not showing up at Brady's day on 6/23 suggest he knew about the phone being destroyed and probably more.

Kraft not showing up to his appeal was because he was on a pre-planned trip with 20 NFL Hall of Famers to Israel.

Try harder chicken little

Don't worry, once trial starts he will once again stop the rhetoric and give up some more draft picks.

We have the perfect coach for this situation. Compared to Cleveland moving to Baltimore, winning with Aladdin is child's play.

Clean up your mouth. He was returning on 6/23 and could have done a phone interview. Your so smart, take off the blinders Brady homer

Robert Kraft is a joke.

How can you release a statement like that? If you truly believe and support him, you would have fought this all-the-way....not given up and take it from behind by good Ol' Roger.

How can he seriously release something like this when he sold his team, his fans and Brady down the river months ago? I mean seriously, talk about hypocrisy. What a complete and utter joke...

Bendover Bob. Enjoy that nickname Kraft, you'll never rid of it.

Exactly.. he already showed where he stands when he capitulated to this joke of a commissioner, like his personal lap dog.

This is just a PR move by him, it has no substance behind it at all.

Most people here are correct. It was the proper thing for the team to say, BUT as for Bob Kraft, it is too little and too late. Here is the statement Kraft HAS to make if he is ever going to rehabilitate the well earned reputation he destroyed with his acceptance of the league penalties. It has to go something like this:

" I realize now that I made a critical mistake in accepting the Commissioner's penalties on behalf of the Patriots organization. I sincerely felt at the time it would be the wisest choice to quiet the rhetoric, and allow the team to refocus on the coming year.

Clearly subsequent events have proven I was wrong, and played into the hands of elements within the league office and a few self interested owners who only care about their own agendas and damaging the legacy I have worked to build for the previous 2o years. These are people who failed to prevail on the field, so they decided to attempt to take us down with this charade of a scandal.

I was misled into thinking that I was working for what I THOUGHT was the entire league's best interests. Instead I put my organization, Tom Brady and Bill Bellichick in an even worse position and played into the hands of some malicious enemies of both the Patriots and the ultimate long term health of the entire league.

Two of the reasons the Patriots have been the most successful team of the last 2 decades is that we stress the value of accountability and to "do your job". Well sadly I didn't do MY job, and its time to make myself accountable. As of this moment I am stepping down as CEO of the NE Patriots and handing over the reins to my capable son, Jonathan.

I want to thank all our fans for their support over theses past 20+ years. They have been some of the best years of my life."

Now if Bob Kraft ever made this statement I believe he would be universally forgiven.

He was in the air for most of the day and didn't arrive back until night time.

Also obviously you're not smart, it's "You're" not "Your". Idiot.

Uhhh, flying on which airline exactly? Oh yeah, that's right: multi-millionaire with private jet, those things are notoriously hard to reschedule. There is no way he could have made it back in time even if he wanted to.

TB was better off without him. Krafty would have voluntarily suspended him for the other 12 games rather than wet his pants testifying in front of wells and go-to-hell.

People here would complian if Kraft knocked goodell out and **** on his chest.

The only way to get back early would have been to cut the trip short a day or decide to do the interview in the air with unreliable phone service.

Actually how about.

Due to the irreparable damage and pain I have caused this fan base I am selling the team to Bill for 1.00 and will watch my favorite team in the stands like a true fan I have lost my way please forgive me.
Now without further ado Bill Belichick!

Fixed it for you.

I dunno if I would forgive him, but it would definitely be a step in the right direction.

No, only because he was a total moron for thinking he was helping Brady in any way to begin with.

Wonder how much say BB had in this release?

I'm guessing it's Jonathan Kraft on the actual order or approval, confident that Bob Kraft, BB and Brady would all be reasonably OK with it.

This makes no sense in the context of Goodell's ruling, which cites PudgeBob's capitulation over the docked draft picks as a factor supporting his decision. (And to think some people here thought Bob bending over actually would help Brady's cause!) The Patriots would've been better off saying nothing.
