How I Feel - MERGED (by accident - Ian) Brady Suspension Upheld

Lol I gotta give it to the NFL, they knew EXACTLY what they were doing and timed everything perfectly. They really did learn their lesson.

more proof that they want to bury tom.
gotta make an example of brady after ****ing up so many other cases

Why does the NFL want to nail their most popular and greatest player so bad? Have they ever filed a suspension to be held in New York before?

Because most of them are ex-Jets and Goodell is one of the worst commissioners in the history of American professional sports. In two decades, the game will be much worse off because of him and the owners backing him blindly.

That's what I thought would happen.

What's the logic behind NFL move? We are suing that our own decision gets upheld. How is that possible?

The league knows that it's been getting its ass kicked in Minnesota. It wants to avoid that court at all costs. It's trying to preempt the NFLPA.

It's yet another sleazy move by the group that's all about 'integrity'.

Can the NFL actually get it to New York or is it just wishful thinking?

It'll be interesting to see what statement Brady's team issues in response. If Brady did destroy his phone during the investigation, then yeah, that's pretty damning.

Not going to lie, up until now I was very confident that Brady was innovent. Unless the NFL is lying (or lying by omission), I kinda have to question that now. Hopefully there's a good explanation or refutation for this.

If I were Brady, I would never give up my personal info. None of their business.

So what's the NFL's grounds for standing to put this in front of a court in the first place?

Or can anyone (I ask this non-rhetorically), having taken an action, waltz into court and ask the court to rule that what they did was proper before there was any challenge to the action?

you sure about that???

You can never really be sure about court rulings. In this case, I specifically posted "knee jerk guess" because I'm less sure than usual.

So i'm reading that in the statement goodell basically says he only believes exponent's take on the science and not any other independent results.

ya. ok.

Why not MA? And what's this I hear about the NFL filing in NY?

Because Judge Doty is in Minnesota, and he's consistently ruled pro-NFLPA.

As for the NY thing, I have no idea, not a lawyer. I hope that will be rightly regarded as a sleazy attempt to game the to game the system. I thought it was standard process that the party with the grievance chose where to file, and the other side could only then argue location.

Can anyone confirm the rumors of the NFL making a "preemptive" filing in NY Federal Court?

And how do they KNOW he will be assigned to this case?

NFL filing in NY probably not a big deal. Not sure it stays there. It's weird tho. I'd like to see the filing.

Forgive me if this has been gone over (and feel free to link me to relevant posts if it has) but as damning as the phone destruction is, I keep coming back to the same question: why a month?

Roger, by your own admission, you knew about the phone a week in advance of the hearing. You had time to become outraged, to calm down and then formulate a strategy for the appeal. You then went through a 10 hour discussion that apparently never once moved the needle in any way toward innocence.

So why did it take you a month to decide to leave everything as is?

I'd understand if maybe you were giving thought to alternate reduction proposals, but your own statement indicates that those were never legitimate options. If anything, you seem to have wanted to increase the penalty, but a 10 minute conversation would have dissuaded that notion.

So what took so long?

Sure, maybe you were pondering subsequent legal strategy, but if this is a slam dunk, what does it matter where or how Brady and the NFLPA appeals your decision? And does it really take three weeks to deliberate over that? Even if I disregard your support of Exponent and blatant ignorance of the natural forces at work, the question remains; why did it take a month?

They don't care about the game. They just care about the $$$$$$. As one poster posted in this thread. The NFL* is a drug. They know people are hooked on it and the 32 drug lords love it! Their drug dealer(Goodell) is making them a lot of profit. As I said after the Ray Rice incident. Everyone should stop watching the NFL for 2 years to send them a message. But that drug that is NFL* is just too good for most.
