How I Feel - MERGED (by accident - Ian) Brady Suspension Upheld

As much as I love Tom (favorite Patriot of all time), and as much as I've defended him tooth and nail, IF he destroyed his cell phone to hide evidence, I'm done. Im accepting that the Pats cheated. Im just gonna move on with this. It is what it is. Does he deserve 4 games for this even if he cheated, compared to the other suspensions, hell no. But he's not going to get this lowered. I don't think he goes to court, I think he just accepts it. No way he can win in court if he destroyed his cell phone. What's worse, if he goes to court, he'd be legally under oath, could actually do jail time if it's found out if he's lying in court. So he can't lie about IF he destroyed his phone and can't lie about why he did it.

As ****ty as the Wells report is, and would probably get destroyed in court, this relevation hurts his chances. I feel he just accepts his punishment like Kraft did.

Lol I literally said like a week ago how since all the information is out in the open that it can't get any worse. Well it just got worse. Much much worse.

You think they deflated balls by .4 psi? Science doesn't hold up regardless what Brady's phone says.

Thats not really the problem, regardless of what happens now it will be very clear to the general public that Brady is a cheater, he destroyed his phone, really? Sorry that is not a coincidence. Im so disappointed.

What I want to know is, if Wells already got the two-way texts involving Brady and the two ball handlers, what else might Brady's cell phone reveal that's important to the case? I don't get why Brady's phone even is an issue.

The destroyed cell phone makes no difference. For one, Brady wasn't giving up his cell phone anyway. For another, if the court wants it, the texts are all going to be available through the carrier anyway. Either way, I'm glad this is going to court and I look forward to the Wells Report being thrown where it belongs - in the ****ter.

Christ, people. This could be as simple as Brady destroying his prior phone as per usual when he gets a new one, but later discovering he hadn't trashed the prior one, and thus gave info from it to the NFL in good faith. If Brady wanted to, he could easily have trashed that phone too (or simply say he did) and that would be that. Instead, he tried to be helpful and submit some data from that phone, and look what it got him.

So because Brady upgraded his cell phone ideal gas law and science suddenly became wrong?

Brady and his legal team need to keep their mouths shut until the court case. The last thing we need another embarrassing explanation of how the deflater means someone losing weight.

Because that was a leak from Brady's camp. Pretty easy to tell the Brady leaks from the NFL leaks.

If I didn't love the Patriots more than I hate the NFL front office I would be done with this BS.

This isn’t a court, the NFL can’t issue warrants, they have absolutely no right to search his personal property. I say this as Jets fan who loves that the decision was upheld. Goodell is a moron and his handling of this incident, like every other thing he has done recently, has been appalling.

Here’s the ridiculous thing: they had the cellphones of the two guys they (the league) were accusing of tampering the balls pursuant to this “scheme”.

I don’t know about you, guys... but my cellphone SHOWS ME THE TEXTS SENT TO ME BY THE OTHER PERSON.

So what, exactly, would Brady’s phone give them with respect to the matter they were investigating? Answer: nothing. They had all the relevant texts. They were fishing for better evidence, because even at that point they knew the case they had was very weak. If your boss’s league officials come to you and are basically saying “give us your cellphone so we can find something you did wrong”... I don’t think you’re going to be very receptive to that.

I look forward to the ****storm that will come when the NFL realizes that Florio and Palantonio opened up a whole new level of potential discovery for the NFLPA with their reporting that other owners were “pressuring” Goodell to uphold the suspension. All you need is reasonable cause to believe that evidence relevant to the case will be contained in the subpoenaed documents/evidence in order to make a discovery request. Now, the NFLPA has a very very good chance of being able to subpoena all of the NFL’s internal communications with respect to the investigation and appeal, on the grounds that there is evidence of Goodell’s partiality in the hearing — and that is something the NFL does NOT want to get out in the public domain, I guarantee.

Brady wasn't going to give up his cell phone in the first place why is him destroying it bad now? It's the same as him not providing his cell phone destroyed or not.

The issue is unfair labor practices and the NFL had no right to the phone. This is what fed appeal will be on. Brady wins.

If you had private cell phone messages between you and a friend that could be very embarrassing to
your friend and your cell phone could end up in court wouldn't you destroy it to protect your friend?

Point is there may be reasons why Tom destroyed his phone which had nothing to do with the deflate case.
