How I Feel - MERGED (by accident - Ian) Brady Suspension Upheld

look, I'm homer just like the next guy here.... but if you're getting a new phone, no need to destroy your old one just because you're a 'high profile' athlete.... a simple wipe out of the phone can do the trick.

Let us all remember that the science says nothing happened other than a few balls which were .3 or so PSI off which does not support anyone tampering and is simple sloppy ref work. The NFL has no right to his phone and I am sure the contents of the phone are worth millions to TMZs etc... between photos and contacts. No way he is ever giving that up to the NFL who repeatedly shows no integrity. They have the other two guys phones.

I would like to reiterate: Brady destroyed supposed "evidence" that he had NO OBLIGATION to surrender. The league does not have the ability to demand it. So saying "we told him we wanted his phone but he destroyed it!" is stupid, because he was never giving it to them anyway and had no requirement to do so.

This is like saying "my neighbor has a really nice car, I told him I wanted to take a joyride in it, but then he traded it in!" Your neighbor was not obligated to let you play with his car and he can do what he damn well pleased with it.

I don't know, there's a pretty big difference between false information informally passed off-the-record to a reporter as part of a PR battle, and a lawyer-vetted official statement as part of an appeal decision immediately prior to a likely lawsuit. The NFL knows this statement will be heavily involved in upcoming litigation. I would be surprised if they are outright lying in this case. At most, it is probably misleading, not an outright falsehood. eg, it is almost definitely the case that the phone is destroyed and the information is unrecoverable. We just have no context for why that is the case.

You may be right but the NFL has zero credibility with me. So whatever they say I treat with skepticism. There's only one thing that's been proven. They'll lie their way out of anything.

All I can say is thank you, Goodell, for guaranteeing this will drag out through the regular season too.

And by thank you I mean f—k you.

Can we not just be biased annoying fans who completely dismiss brady destroying his phone? If it's true then it's embarrassing to try and figure out why he would ever do that.

Giving up his phone is a differnt matter completely.

NFL Upholds Tom Brady Suspension

Ian Logue

The NFL announced that they're upholding Tom Brady's suspension, pointing to an apparent "destruction of the cell phone" of Brady as their reasoning behind the decision.

Goodell's claim is that Brady didn't tell the league about the destroyed phone until the appeal.

Destroyed. Not turned over. Can a court subpoena the phone company anyway? Get the records that way?

Circumstantial......looks bad....proves nothing

Goodell was even found by a judge to have definitely lied in the Rice dealings. So it wouldn't be anything new.

Goodell of course being the same guy who wouldn't turn over his own personal phone to the Mueller investigation.

Well, if it is true that Brady "destroyed" his cell phone we're going to see Garrapollo for 4 games and Pats haters in media will start serious movement for the Pats to vacate the super bowl...i'm not kidding...this sh#t, as we know, takes on a life of its own. Brady, Kessler, or somef#ckingbody in Brady's camp absolutely needs to make a statement today. Silence is an admission of guilt here as far as I'm concerned....:mad::mad:

You're forgetting 2 important points;

1. There's no proof the footballs were deflated
2. The PSI in footballs has never been a big deal to the NFL.

Don't forget what matters here. Vacating anything is foolish talk....relax

I imagine it took Goodell all of 1 day to make that decision, perhaps 5 days to get the 4-5 hours of Tom's appeal in a format he could read. So, what did Goodell do with the other 29 days of this process?

Perhaps it took that long to figure out what a dorito dink was?

wiping your phone doesn't necessarily remove the private data on it. Same as deleting a file doesn't mean its really gone for ever. I recover lost data for people/companies as part of my business. As I said in my other post, even I destroy my own hard drives and old phones, though I'm not rich so when I destroy them they are pretty well used and not worth much anyway.

With that said, if I magically got my hands on one of Tom Brady's used cell phones (if he didn't destroy them), I can guarantee I'd be attempting to recover what was ever one there! So it's smart of ANY high profile celebrity to destroy their devices, or you may end up with its contents on TMZ and all over the internet.

I agree, but we have zero context. Zero. The NFL, as usual isn't being clear. Also, I assume he uses Apple products. I would make the assumption he backs up his phone. What people are forgetting is that NOTHING is stored on sim cards. Nothing. Everything is on the phone and nowadays the cloud. The whole "destroying" cell phones doesn't carry the weight it did 10 years ago.

All I've got to say is that on September 10th, with the entire world watching, all of Gillette has to be chanting Brady's name for 60 minutes straight.

Ok I truly think it's Bradys teams time to break the silence. I agree with everyone it shouldn't matter what he does with his phone and how you can still get records from provider, however knowing your being investigated he would have to know it would look bad and give the nfl ammunition to make him look guilty. They really need to speak up and not wait! Reply to this today!
