rondo traded to dallas

Or he could learn to shoot the ball ... not ... and reason #1 why he is not a max contract player.

He's always been one of the most overrated PG's in the NBA. He can't shoot for **** and he has a punk ass attitude with zero respect for authority. The Celtics are better without him.

This is the absolute worst-case season-ending scenario for the Smeltics: no lottery, early 1st-round exit in POs as the 8th seen in the East, which means they still suck and will continue to suck for the rest of the decade unless Danny can acquire the true Center they desperately need, instead of the flotsam & jetsam that currently clog this roster. Great job.

It is interesting that you were far from alone with this sentiment - but I'm increasingly convinced that the Lottery itself is fixed in the first place - and the only reason I'd want to be in it is to get, ideally, the top pick. I just can't get away from the fact that whatever the NBA's top marketing priority is, they're most often the ones to get the top pick

But Ainge and Stevens have shown they can get more from less, and are possibly making this an attractive place for top quality veterans to play, plus they have enough draft picks stockpiled to move around and get who they want

And they may actually be in running for a Center - albeit one with some off court concerns - with their late 1st round choice this year too

It will be an interesting off season to be sure

Anyone in particular you're hearing about? Willie Cauley-Stein is a weirdo, but I doubt he's still available at 16, never mind 28.

I think he's talking about Upshaw, the guy who's been booted off two teams due to repeated substance abuse.

Yup - though I'm questioning whether he'll be there late in the first round... the risk is great - but the reward could be too

If Miami loses Wade they may make a run at Rondo ...oh happy days Kontra.

All in all I liked Rondo - though thought "building" around him was a dubious strategy that would squander resources

But I really wasn't prepared for the "addition by subtraction" phenomenon around here after he was gone

Stevens really has a way of getting guys to play as a team - maybe not at Golden State's level, but that's the mindset... and it's no coincidence that the Celtics played the Cavs as tough as anyone in the East

There's still no guarantees on whether the team successfully rebuilds - there's a lot of luck involved... but it's been very interesting to watch thus far too!

kontra will lose his mind if the heat sign rondo

I won't watch them anymore. I hate Rondo. Further, Dragic is a better PG. He can actually shoot the basketball and he isn't a punk ass cancerous little ***** boy.

I hated Rondo from day 1 and took grief from it ...
Was hard to hear him get ball washed during the playoff runs ... glad he's gone.

I got blasted for it too. But that's because I was a Heat fan badmouthing him. As I said before, the honeymoon is now over. A lot of the same people that blasted me for it are now seeing Rondo for the punk ass he is. He's not good enough to deal with the problems he brings to the table. I will be sincerely disappointed in Riley if Rondo is wearing a Heat jersey. Keep Dragic, develop Napier, and try to make a run at Durant next year.

Rondo got 1 year at 9.5 million ... no chump change but not the max contract the douchebag thought he could get. On a local level it kind of reminds me of when shortstop Jody Reed rejected a 3 year deal worth like 7.8 million ... f'n dope. Went to the Brewers for 350K after that.o_O

I heard this on the radio while I was driving. the first thing I thought of was his brother.
Eh. Another case of Danny picking up a draft pick for free. Miami sent along cash to cover the salary. They can just waive him after TC.

Yeah unless he shoots lights-out in TC, I don't think they're keeping him over one of their midgets.

Update ... screw Rondo.
