Stephen A Smith: Brady's suspension to be upheld, Brady destroyed cell phone

Stephen A. Smith has made a career out of exaggerating **** and getting his story wrong on the first take. Gotta wait and see if any of this is true.

Even if the cell phone is 'destroyed', there are still records of all calls and texts that can be retrieved from his provider. It's still simply a matter of whether or not the NFL is entitled to them.

If Brady destroyed his cell phone in the way Stephen A Smith is imply that just feels bad. I would be seriously concerned. BUT the hope is he's completely full of **** or confused Brady getting rid of his iphone for the Samsung Galaxy 5s as "destroying his phone"

And why is it bad? Because it validates everyone who was saying that Brady would be scared to go to court because he would need to turn over his phone because it surely has damning evidence. If suddenly his phone is destroyed prior to having to go to court that is pretty suspicious. Sorry but it looks bad.

But again, hopefully all lies.

If Brady destroyed his phone the way Smith is implying it would have been in the Wells Report. This is the NFL using Smith as their mouthpiece to launch a last ditch offensive trying to get Brady to cave.

Just an aside, why WOULDN'T he destroy his old cell phone?

Dude is almost a billionaire. He probably gets the newest, cutting edge phone every 2-3 months.

To play devils advocate, the possibility exists that he only recently destroyed it when it became clear that this was going to court. So theoretically this could have come out now because Goodell inquired about the phone during these latest negotiations, perhaps offering a compromise if he was able to see it, Bradys team tells him it was destroyed, and now he uses that as justification to keep it at 4 games.

Once it became clear this was going to court, I'm 100% certain that his legal team would have explained--if they even had to--that destroying your cell phone accomplishes exactly nothing. Your provider has copies of your call logs and every text you've ever sent (aka the same stuff that would be on your phone, without the ability to delete them) readily available for subpoena.

I regrettably destroyed my cell phone a few months back in the washing machine.

Does it make me evil?

If it's a windows phone, no one cares. But if it's an iPhone, all the android fan boys will be popping champagne.

I would say there's next to no chance that this is true. The notion that Brady destroyed his cell phone and this is the first we're hearing about it seems unbelievable in the literal sense. Especially since it's coming from a clown like Stephen A. rather than actual legit reporters with real sources like Schefter.

Are you saying the voices in Stephen A. Smith's head are not legitimate?

It makes no sense for him to "destroy" his phone when the NFL has no power to subpoena it.

This is complete nonsense.

The problem with this whole he destroyed his phone thing is that someone from Brady's side would have had to tell the nfl that he did that. Do we really think that happened?

Now maybe it came to light in the appeal hearing that Brady's phone was damaged since then but that is completely stupid because he would have deleted any text messages from his phone by then so if it did get damaged it was an accident.

Also pretty sure no one was suppose to talk about anything that was said at the appeal so if Brady's phone getting damaged came to light then once again the anti-Pats nfl offices has leaked misinformation.

Stephen A spewing garbage
Basically what he is implying is that the league used a potential BB lifetime banishment to blackmail Kraft into accepting the punishment.

The NYJ-Mafia run NFL FO executed a shakedown to strong-arm Kraft so that he would capitulate to their demand of accepting the punishment and leaving the perception of their ultimate power and authority intact.

345 is nothing more than gangster headquarters. If this doesn't prove it I don't know what does. It's like a gang threatening to abduct your family and take them hostage if you don't comply with their ransom demands.

As several others here have pointed out, if this actually were as incriminating as Smith is making it out to be or even true, it would have been included in the Wells report, or it would have been leaked earlier, BEFORE people like Sally Jenkins started publishing articles critical of the league's conduct.

This is a last ditch leak that Goodell has approved in order to maintain the suspension with minimal public backlash. I mean, just a few weeks back, Smith himself basically demanded that the league reduce Brady's ,suspension in light of the Hardy appeal's outcome. But obviously, Roger has to keep the owners with a stake in the suspension placated. So what does he do? Try to drum up more public outcry against Brady.

Add Stephen A Smith to the list of potential defendants of a defamation lawsuit.

First he implies Brady is racist, now he's breaking stories about Brady destroying his phone. Since when the hell is Stephen A Smith an NFL insider? He's just making **** up.
