BREAKING NEWS: Stephen A Smith has video footage of Brady destroying his emails and text messages.

Just heard Smith say the NFL* is looking forward to going to court and is very confident....that they will uphold the 4 games to send a message to the league that they are serious about teams following rules and that their goal was to keep the suspension at 4 games(that is a victory according to Smith no matter what happens in court). According to Smith its all about refusing to turn over phone records and the decision will come down in the next 24 to 48 hours.

Looking forward???????!!!???

Yeah just as I am looking forward to my eventual death

Are you kidding me??? If this were true, the MFL wold have had TB hanging from the rafters, long ago. BSPN just trying to drag Brady thru the mud once again. Stephen A, please. Yeah, another man of "integrity". If this isn't true, add to the defamation pile

stephen a ...the same guy who loves floyd mayweather. and defends him at all times.

I can't even. I come here to discuss football and Stephen A has me having flashbacks to nights watching The Wire. Damn Omar..

Does anyone think that Brady's lawyer would actually allow him to destroy his cell phone?

No but the attorney probably told him, "get a new phone" and put the old one away. That way any text messages between us ( attorney-client) will always stay between us and even if you give up the phone, you don't have to worry about it falling in the wrong hands or getting leaked...
Then it becomes "Brady got a new phone". Yeah, anybody with a brain would have as well if they ever thought they might have to give up their phone in a court case..

Stephen A Smith is Troy Vincent's *****. He is just bluffing on Troy Vincent's behave. Eff him.

Deflate gate started in January something big like Brady destroying his phone would have been big news and leaked way earlier...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the cell phone provider keep records of texts and emails in case you accidentally lose or destroy your phone?

I hope this story is a sign that the matter is heading to court because I really want to get to the bottom of all this.

If you were Kraft, knowing the hate against PATs, would you take a chance by leaving
your Hall of Fame Coach's fate up to some court or appeal process?
If there is even a vague reference to banning BB why let legal beagles twist it to justify the
banning action?

I have no idea why Kraft would even remotely agree to a lifetime ban for Belichick. The tapping was legal but the camera was in the wrong place. That offense doesn't warrant a life time ban from the *NFL.

I couldn't be happier if this is true. I wanted this to go to court from the beginning.

There is literally nothing on ESPN's main page about this. Can we safely assume that this was a lie?

Please god I don't ask for much

People sometimes use "ban" to mean "suspend for a significant amount of time."

In any case, that part of the story makes no sense whatsoever, since it implies that the league conveniently "forgot" they had said that, only remembered it after Kraft started fighting, and then gave him the "choice" of dropping the appeal or having Belichick suspended too.

At least SAS got this right. The league has been steadfast in their resolve to find and severely penalize an infraction and then justify upholding the penalty by any means necessary. Notice how the wording strongly indicates that the goal was never to actually determine if anything actually happened, just to make an example.

Yes, and they can be very easily subpoenaed. Anyone who paid attention to the Hernandez trial would know that, since Aaron's first thing to do was (super idiotically) destroy his cell phone.

Look, we all know this is more BS from ESPN, but even it were true, Favre only got a $50,000 fine for not providing his cell phone. A far cry from a 4 game suspension.
