Take it for what it is worth because of the source, but Stephen A Smith is saying that he is hearing that the four game suspension of Brady will be upheld and Brady didn't turn over the cell phone because he destroyed it (those are Volin's words on twitter so they could have been spun even more).

if he destroyed his phone he would have gotten waay more than 4 games. that right there would have raised red flags about brady's role in all this. but wells makes no mention of this.

Ok, next step in this process of destroying Brady's image is comparing him with Hernandez about this cell destruction thing.

What a pathetic joke.

"Destroyed"

Rather than admit that the phone almost certainly couldn't have anything useful, let's double down with buzzwords!

Yeah, he destroyed his phone and this is the first we are hearing of it, the day his appeal is upheld. Totally non-bias reporting right there, not a planted story from an NFL source at all.

My guess it was post Well Report that Smith is talking about. But my guess is that if he doesn't have his phone, it is far less suspicious like he upgraded his phone or lost it or something like that.

Whatever the truth or falsehood in any of this, this level of chatter suggests that we're going to know one way or the other today.

I'll take a wait and see approach on this one because it's best not to overreact to initial reports as they are most often wrong. That said, even if Brady did destroy his cell phone, couldn't they have still pulled the text records off of it if he had given them permission to do so? So why destroy it?

Wow, "destroyed" his cell phone seems extreme. If that is true, I might have to re-evaluate my thoughts on the whole matter.

Bottom line IMO is Goodell would rather the courts handle this so he doesn't have to face petulant owners on the issue. I want Brady to go full attack on the league so I'm okay with any excuse they use to keep it at 4 games. I'd rather he pays a $25,000 fine to get rid of it but that's not on the table so lawsuit it is.

So would I. It would be hard to convince anyone that Brady didn't have a hand in this. That said, it doesn't make sense to destroy it so I'm wondering how much validity this initial report has.

Chika what? This would be a ridiculous twist...I can't imagine.

Smith is a gum flapper..........there will be no repsonse because nobody believes anything he says

Right? Why would there be no mention of "destroying a cellphone" until now? Seems like a pretty major detail if true.

I regrettably destroyed my cell phone a few months back in the washing machine.

Does it make me evil?

We also heard 11 of 12 footballs were two pounds under.
