Goodell is Going Down

Lol I forgot all about the Cardinals hacking thing. What probably should have been literally investigated as a federal crime was just brushed over in a day. And meanwhile we have ball pressure filling the headlines.

Yup and (different sport I know) there is a certain known PED user playing like he did when he was 25. And he's 39 and being celebrated. We are in complete bizarro world.

Tough call, Ortiz wasn't very good at 25 either.

Only the NFL knows what really happened behind the scenes. If it turns out that some underlings set up a little sting (without informing the ref by the way) and someone told Wells what they wanted the report to say (and hopefully put it in writing), then this isn't just a minor problem for the NFL. This would be a major handle and heads would have to roll.

Quote from the article:

"This is truly one of the dumbest scandals in sports history, a molehill the NFL turned into a mountain."

No Dan, it is more accurate to state "This is truly one of the dumbest scandals in sports history, a molehill the NFL and the media turned into a mountain.".

Don't exclude one of the most important parts of this story to deflect from you.
I would dare say that the media is more responsible for this than the NFL. While certain parties within the owner's and management staffs of "certain" teams conspired, I feel like this whole thing spiraled out of their control because that's what the media does and the NFL is run by a bumbling fool with an ego the size of Everest.

I strongly believe that Goodell could not have come up with this whole fiasco on his own.

So that would mean someone within the NFL front office had to pull him into a meeting and pitch him the idea back in November.

I mean I can imagine an NFL exec coming up to Roger and trying to explain how its for the better of the league to take down the best team, so we came up with Football pressure being the main issue.

Goodell then might say, that has never been an issue before, why now?

The rest is history and will probably be his downfall.

I really do wonder if Goodell has any regrets on all of this or is he just that stupid.

I've always felt that Goodell is just smart enough to scheme up a "master plan", but not smart enough to actually execute it properly. Things look good and scary at first, but as time passes, more and more holes shine through, and it crumbles.

Some other poster, or maybe it was a quote.

The birth of this came about when Brady called out Harbaugh and said "know the rules".

Of course it all started with Harbaugh, where do you think that 10.1 number came from? It was cold enough during that game to get a 10.1 reading.

The whole thing is petty and childish. I want to know what the Ravens owner had on Goodell to make him bend over at every turn.

If Brady sues, I would expect some NFL emails stating this to be discovered and then accidentally leaked to the press! Purely by accident of course, like all the NFL leaks!

That Ravens origin conjecture has been posted here dozens of times.
I believe that it's very likely true.

He is going nowhere..like another poster said..the owners love him and want him there..including our own

The only way goodell ever gets fired is if his emails are hacked or some incriminating phone call recording is released. The owners love this man. Why? I have no clue.

Yeah, I have a difficult time buying into the whole "we knew back in November" act.

The game wasn't even played in Foxborough, so I think that aspect hasn't been questioned loudly enough. Why don't we see some of the mediots bringing this up? I'd love to see Goodell answer this question.

I'd love to see Goodell answer this question.

not me...I'd rather superglue his **** to his leg and melt his lips together with a blow torch so all he could do is a bad Neo imitation from the Matrix...

That's certainly one way to handle it, Joker ;)
