Patriots signed punter Ryan Allen - who has longest punt in Super Bowl history - to a three-year contract extension, per @seanstellato.

I guess our kickers are locked in for a while.

If someone told us this time 5 years ago that we'd be extending our punter, there would be no question who the punter was. Zoltan Mesko, the Joe Cardona of punters, of course.

If you beat the Zoltan, you gotta be good ! Haha.

Defiently looks like a good choice between Mesko and Allen, Mesko hasnt been able to get a team to sign him since 2013

Just shows once again the value BB places on elite ST play.

Great! I wasn't sure how much of an upgrade he would actually be over Mesko but it seems pretty noticeable to me. He's real good.

At first I didn't see much difference between Ryan Allen and Mesko but now the difference is significant compared to Mesko. BB made another great decision! I thought Mesko was going to stick to the roster. When Allen did I thought it was because of saving cap space. Allen turned out to be better than Mesko anyways.

Guy is an excellent holder too, you have to be with Danny Aiken snapping.

How many years is he on for now?

And hopefully more funny cameos.

Since Schefty's saying "extension," I presume that means 2018, since he's still on his rookie contract now.

I don't quite understand what happened to Mesko, Allen beat him out but he was still a good punter. Must have crushed his confidence when he got cut.

Looking forward to the Ghost-Allen-Cardona trio for a while, hopefully.

Thats how I read it aswell and Allen was really good last year - Even with Aiken as snapper - So pleased to see the trio together for the next 4 years.

Will never forget that booming punt against the Lions. Horrendous low snap by Aiken, digs it quickly booms it 70 yard, Lions punt returner losses yards on the return. Flipped field position around which imo got the offense going.

The returner didn't even do anything wrong. It was just an improbably great punt.
