[NFL Propaganda] NFL would like you to think they are wearing Brady down

Have the NFL not watched any patriots games for the past 15 seasons? Tom Brady doesn't wear down. Tom Brady wears you down.

Well, Kraft is not a they. If the majority of owners thought Goodell was incompetent and bad for the league, they could vote him out. Obviously, such a majority doesn't exist.

There's an article that four owners are trying to influence him. If they are the owners of the Jets, Ravens colts etc. then they are the favored owners for whatever reason and the cause of the current farce.

Kraft was made a fool of, no doubt and it seems he thought he had goodell in his back pocket when, in reality, goodell stabbed him in the back.

Let's face it, the guy really thought Goodell was going to apologize to the team and was shocked [as I and everyone i know was] about the punishment].

Given those facts, why would anyone think an appeal, by one of the people who gave Goodell unlimited power, to Goodell and no one else, as a member of a private club, who's rules he had agreed to, would be anything but a farce?

Kraft was goodell's biggest supporter after Spygate, he deserves to be screwed over. Brady on the other hand does not, especially by these nitwits.

How long does Brady and his team wait before getting and injunction?
Herr Idiot and his goons will take forever for a ruling.

But if Brady does take a deal that includes missing even one game then I will be forced to believe there is something about this he knew about.

I understand why people would be upset with a scenario like that, but there are 3 main points that I'd respect in that decision:

1. The news that there is no sufficient evidence to suggest that Brady cheated. That right there helps save his reputation dramatically. The 1 game suspension could be under the "non cooperation" wording, and even though some here will point to that normally equating to a fine, this situation was a cluster fudge from the beginning. The fact that he'd be cleared of cheating may be quite appealing to him. Who knows?

2. The reduction from 4 games to 1 game. It means Brady plays in every game but the opener, and it also saves him a couple of million dollars--not that money is necessarily a factor, but having an extra couple of million dollars is indeed an incentive that should be included.

3. While it's been suggested that it's a slam dunk in court, that's never the case. As we know, there is a high bar when it comes to labor agreements that have gone through the arbitration process, so while Brady may have a decent shot in front of the right judge/district, it's reasonable to ponder the thought that he may not wish to roll the dice. Let's remember that a loss in court would look awful.

While I don't WANT Brady to agree to this hypothetical proposal, I also can't agree with you that it automatically makes him guilty.

Whatever. This thing is insane. If it makes you feel better to villify Kraft constantly, go for it, no skin off my nose. I just want goodell gone while brady still has a few years in his prime left [he's playing like that, anyway] Brady and the NFLPS are the only ones with the power to go after the league legally, but to get rid of goodell, they are going to have to vote him out and the NFL is a private club of 32 when it comes to that, not bound by anything but their private agreement, unless the league itself is destroyed.

....It demonstrates a level of pettiness and incompetence that even I didn't expect at the start of this disciplinary process.

This surprises me, too, even to this day. Are they really that emotionally connected to the Jets still? Is it jealousy? But even if that were the case, doesn't the outside counsel they hired put some limits on the stupidity? This latest leak appears to be so strategically stupid. Every day, it gets more absurd.

The decision will come a day before the opening game. No time for an injuction! 1 game suspension!

...the nfl will announce the suspension a day before the season stars.

...
If goodell waits until a few days before the season to rule I'm betting a dozen judges will grant an immediate injunction....

I hope Goody the coward waits until halfway through August, the case will be ripe and Kessler can file an injunction, that should piss off the judge enough. ...

IANAL but know a thing or two. I agree with obgod and cmass, at some point the delay will be too much and Brady's team will be able to take the initiative and file pre-emptively, claiming the excessive delay violates the CBA and gives the court standing to intervene. That would also undermine any defense by the league that arbitration made the suspension sacrosanct.

I would expect that Kessler would file no later than one week before the season opener, on the grounds that delay beyond that would impede game preparation because of the uncertainty, and thus cause his client irreparable harm regardless of the ruling. So I think that would be a very good thing, quite apart from the desire to see Brady seize the initiative and put Goodell on the defensive.

Unfortunately I'll be off the grid that week and unable to watch things unfold until I get back from the desert on Labor Day. Oh well, priorities.

A "neutral" arbitrator attempting to "negotiate" his decision on an appeal of . . . his decision?

Goodell has a very unique interpretation of due process.

Goodell is screwed due to his sheer incompetence.

I agree with #3.

All the general masses care about is what the NFL says. But make no mistake if he agrees to any suspension anyone wearing a number 12 jersey is going to hear people saying he is a cheater. Quite frankly a lot of that is going to happen anyway so maybe it doesnt matter.

I agree with #2 also but if he does accept a suspension i know a lot of people on this forum who's heads will fall off.

No one around these parts are talking about cooperation, only about being a cheater. Sucks really. Can't tell you how many folks have told me this week alone how they cheated to win the SB, how stupid huh. But it gets old.

That would pretty much guarantee a Brady victory in court, so I doubt they'll do it. They have lawyers too.

I told you guys, Goodell's nfl=nazi Germany

sorta disagree...I think it's more like THIS...

LOONEY TUNES

Goodell in his infinite wisdom believes he has got BB and his Krewe by the short hairs.. unfortunately he has not studied the history of this franchise in the past 15 years, while Goodell plays Nero on Madison Ave. with the failed Jets Employees.. BB is in the bunker with his brain trust coming up with all sorts of nefarious plots..

Goodell is trying to play games with the Patriots, and all he is doing is looking more and more incompetent.. and more and more spiteful... more and more like a petulant child.

Sooner or later a national scribe is going to put all of this together and that will be the beginning of the end..

wearing Brady down?...pissing him off more than he already was naybe....yet another stupid mnove by goodell.

Yea but Kraft is an expert at getting screwed and screwing over his team.
Absolutely correct sir, In terms of benefiting his team and its fans, Kraft is the least respected and influential owner in the league. The other owners may be blowing smoke up his rear about how great he is but when it counts it is not smoke shoved up there

Especially given the fact that the NFL has a terrible record in federal court and an injunction would be granted immediately that would allow Brady to play.

Goodell drug out the investigation and now is purposely taking his time with the appeal ruling because he knows that Brady would prefer his 0 game suspension done and buried prior to this seasons camp and 16 games. Goodell likely thinks if he goes right up to the 11th hour with 1 or 2 games deal Brady will take it and Goodell still gets paint Brady as guilty.

Goodells lawyer with Jastremski on the stand.

Ok ok enough of this crap. Brady needs to give in and just accept the 4 game suspension. Let's all move on and let the team put it behind them.

I think having TB12 sit out 4 preseason games is very reasonable :)
