This is the type of story that ought to be in the national news.

Commissioner Goodell....an influential owner on line 1.

I'm disgusted.

Would be great if BB spoke for a minute then turns it over to Seau's family to talk about him.

See it hit the ticker at the top of the screen. Damage control coming from the NFL any minute now.

Kind of reminiscent of Brady only has 4 hours to make appeal.

"I was originally going to make a long speech of my own, but events have led to me reading this speech from the Seau family instead..."

....and he's the guy who would love to do it. BB had a great appreciation for Junior and while i do think his words would be genuine and heartfelt, this is just the kind of opportunity to crap on the league.

I get the impression BB loved Seau. It is sad that Junior's life wasn't longer and (presumably) happier than it was...

the NFL doing something ****ty, in other news sky still blue

Stay classy, NFL.

It's clear what they're protecting against: if his daughter gets up there and blames football for his death, that has the potentially to be historically bad press for the league. But oh well; if you're so invested in your shameful coverup that you have to ban someone from speaking at her late dad's own HOF induction, then you need to realize that you're a ****ty person working on behalf of a morally bankrupt organization.

Boy I'll tell 'ya... Just when you think the league can not bungle things any more than they already have, something like this manifests... and seemingly on the heels of the newest leaks from NYFL head offices regarding their determination to grind Brady's resolve down to dust.

Rumor has it the NFL is going to let Bob Kraft "speak" instead.

This league is like a clown car that could maintain a lane for a little ways and now they've swerved off the road and are headed to a 3000 foot cliff.

The nfl has the worst PR team of all time

This rule was put in place in 2011.
