PFT: Settlement Talks Have Taken Place

That's exactly it. Merloni got it, Benz didn't. Don't turn on 98.5. He is admitting guilt by putting out the settlement offer. Also, the science is off the table at 98.5. Yup, it's all about the text messages because science can be bought.

Funny you wrote that.....I happened to click over there during a commercial from a real sports talk station with Holley, dale and Thornton only to hear that BS they were spewing.

That lasted all of two minutes.

But Mike "WHAT ABOUT THE TEXT MESSAGES, HE SAID DEFLATOR, THERE'S NO WAY AROUND THAT"

Seriously the NFLPA gets seriously boned. NBAPA *****es all the time but in comparison they have a million times better deal than the NFLPA gets. It's amazing how badly the NFL players get screwed over.

They get not one bit of sympathy from me. The players caved when they had the owners by the balls, while people such as myself were warning about the consequences.

When was that? Matt Light said something like they were in a tough spot because the owners still get paid due to TV contracts while the players could only hold out for so long. Although you'd think those millions of dollars would hold them over for a while...

During the CBA negotiations. The players had the owners by the balls, but they chose to panic about the short term instead of planning for the long term.

A lot of people forget that the players lost on pretty much everything, including the money issue, all because they cracked before anything had been lost.

But at least they don't have to practice as much, right?

Yeah whoever led the charge on that one failed big time. They barely get any guaranteed money and they don't even get more than 50% of the revenue, players should get around 55%. They've lost like every battle they've ever been in. If any league should have been pushing for big guaranteed money it should have been the NFL what a joke of an NFLPA they have.

There is no basis for large fine. Until i see a statement from the NFLPA, i will assume this is nothing but a leak spilling false information.

Media logic:

"If the league cuts the suspension down to 1-2 games, Brady should take it, even if he's not guilty, for the good of the team."

"If Brady offered to settle, even if it's for 0 games and just a fine, Brady must be guilty."

Classic NFL leak. They want to throw out there the suspicion of guilt, when there is none. Expect the ruling soon, and don't expect much of a reduction. I would bet they wouldn't have reduced it at all, if not for the Hardy decision. They leak a negotiation and then give a slightly reduced sentence, pr is the only thing they answer to. This thing is going to court, thank god. F-ck the NFL, what a kangaroo court..

The NFL has so little integrity that it will uphold penalties it doesn't believe can survive court challenges, and must know are not supported by the evidence, rather than doing the right thing?

So we'll put.

"If Brady offered to settle, even if it's for 0 games and just a fine, Brady must be guilty."

There's no actual contradiction here, since people making these arguments are already convinced that Brady is actually guilty.

So the entire murder trial of Aaron Hernandez costs 462,000 dollars to prosecute a NFL player for murdering an innocent man. Court costs, overtime, police etc.

The cost of the Wells report I'm not sure of but it is speculated he got 45million for 2 cases. One because someone was picking on someone and the other was to show guilt over under inflated footballs.

There is something wrong with that. We as a society are just really naive to the way things work in this world.

Not to get all save the world here but
16 million children in this country can't count on three meals a day.

Instead if chasing down lawyers to help frame football players, if Goodell wants good PR, knocking that number in 1/2 would be a nice place to start.

I do NOT buy that the NFLPA proposed a huge fine in place of suspension.
That would set a precedent that would result in huge fines to players far less able to pay than TFB.

I doubt any talks happened at all. Just more BS from NYFL office.
