1 note from th SI Revis article, he has had micro fracture surgery on his knee, didn't know about that in addition to the ACL. Not good for longevity, not worth the big bucks in the long term.
There was a report shortly after Revis' departure that one reason he left is that the Pats only believed he had one elite year left and therefore it didn't make sense to fully guaranteed two years plus part of the third like the Jets did. That report didn't gain traction because of the source (I forget who, but not one of the main reporters) and because it was dismissed as bitterness due to him leaving. After hearing about the micro fracture surgery, I'm starting to wonder if maybe there was actually some validity to that.

Coffee! Coffee! Coffee! I am partial to DD but that's mainly because the place I work at has one inside it, so I am there most mornings. But I do have to admit, Starbucks is #1, though there's only one around here and it doesn't even have a drive through, like WTF is that?! These people expect me to get off my ass, walk into their store, and then pay MORE MONEY for their delicious coffee?!!?? Yeah OK, I'll just keep spending $2 a day for DD for my coffee that they don't ever seem to stir.

But really, we are all starting to sound like Peter King here. Is "beer nerd-ness" next?
DD coffee is pretty awful. About the only thing it has going for it is it's so bland it can't possibly offend anyone and you can get it on drive-thru. In enormous cups. :)

I think there's a nostalgia factor to it too, because it has a weird, unique taste that your childhood brain subconsciously craves. I have a friend who grew up here but moved to Seattle after college, and even after 15 or so years there (where there's not only Starbucks, but also about a thousand one-off hipster coffee joints that make phenomenal brews), he still craves DD whenever he's in town. It's a psychological thing.

The reality of coffee:

Consumer Reports magazine said that in a test conducted at two locations of each emporium, its tasters found McDonald’s coffee to be “decent and moderately strong” with “no flaws.” On the other hand, the Starbucks brew “was strong, but burnt and bitter enough to make your eyes water instead of open.” The March, 2007 issue of the magazine, advises, “Try McDonald’s, which was cheapest and best.” Several other more recent blind taste tests have consistently rated Dunkin’ Donuts and MacDonald’s as the best tasting and Starbucks as the worst tasting coffee sampled.

Starbucks is all marketing, and the coffee is burned and lousy. Man is a fickle animal, easily swayed.

Some of us like our beans roasted half to death!!

Agree Ross, this has me thinking more about football now, can't wait until we get into training camp and start talking football again :)

It's going to be an exciting season. I love football season I have high hopes for our offense this year. PM

And the Dunkin Donuts drive thru is basically the coffee version of Russian Roulette.

After moving to the West Coast, I can't drink that sour Dunkin crap at all anymore. Nasty. If they do anything right in the NW it's make a good cup of coffee.

^ Yeah so what happened with Bodden? I don't remember the details

I seem to remember that he had an issue where one leg was shorter than the other (?)

All I could find was articles about him having back surgery.

I just wanted to report that I got an iced latte from DD today and it was excellent.

Lol.

I got an x-large regular and a veggie flatbread from DD as well. It did the job at 5:50am.

Well done Bill, signing Tarell Brown. Now go get Evan Mathis to fill the ginormous hole at LG.

PS: Starbucks sux, in everything they do.

Hmm. So it would appear that the Pats probably always wanted him, but didn't move to sign him until they were comfortable with his recovery. I believe he made two separate stops in New England for visits, so seems as though they were keeping tabs on his foot situation, and finally felt good enough about it to pull the trigger.

save it for the tarell brown thread, plz

Damn, now every time someone mentions Tarell Brown in camp, I'm gonna want a coffee.

If he makes the team, I'm nicknaming him Tarell "Smooth Roast" Brown. And if you didn't hear that in the voice of Billy Dee Williams, you and I just weren't meant to get along.

I think we are just gonna call him Smooth Roast from this point forward.

My hope and as ignorant as unfair as it may sound, that the Fletchers, Browns, and Derek Coxes get our young guys acclimated to the pro game give them a few pointers and teach them how to read plays then the Young guys the Roberts, Swanson, Jean edge out these guys based on Athletics and upside.
