Another article criticizing NFL for dragging feet on TB appeal

This is the best one yet. Touches (1) the science (2) the NFL leaks (3) the report's ridiculous findings (4) the ref inconsistencies (5) the incompetence of the league office. Everything is covered. But why so, so late ? Why are all of these excellent articles coming in July ?

As good a read as that was, and as much as I appreciate any swing in the momentum of this situation, these articles do nothing but frustrate me. Everything in there is so obvious, it drives me insane that this has become what it is. It's mind boggling.

They didn't have the vested interest in this that Pats fans do.

I think some of the excellent investigative work done on sites like this one have been helpful in changing how fair-minded people see Deflategate.

I agree...excellent article. This summarizes what a "fair" media would report:

"You can even believe Brady did it, or at least this was extremely suspicious – as I tend to do – and be appalled at a league office that is willing to suspend him for four games with not just little to no evidence that he did anything but little to no evidence that anything even happened."

I believe it's important for a journalist to release an article considering the timing, to get a better exposition and make a name, it's not surprising for me so many articles popping up in this week, when I start to believe the tide is finally turning, even though after the bloodshed already done.

I think many of these articles were on their desk drawers just waiting to be published.

No more interesting angles after shredding Tom Brady and his legacy for 5 months? Move on to shredding the NFL!!! This is just to keep bosses happy and articles flowing.

Kraft deciding to just accept the punishment was the worst thing for Brady's public image.

Because most people don't follow along in as much detail as PatsFans readers.

So a casual person (even a casual owner or player):
1. Would logically assume that the NFL is not going to vindictive toward an individual player or team
2. The NFL hired an independent investigator
3. The Independent Investigator found the Pats guilty
4. Kraft decided to not fight the findings.
5. A logical assumption would be Kraft knows the Pats are guilty
6. The only question now is whether Brady was aware the Pats are guilty

Unfortunately there was a breakdown in all of the steps:
1. logical assumption that NFL would not be vindictive is wrong
2. investigator was not independent but rather was hired to write a biased paper
5. Kraft is an idiot for not fighting
6. Now this leaves Brady in a much worse position because deflation is assumed to have occurred by everyone.

The part that bugs me about this article is that Wetzel STILL thinks Brady was involved. McNally could not have been responsible for letting so little air out of the balls in the time he was in the bathroom. There would have been no way for him to control it and the ball measurements would have been all over the map. They were not. I swear these are the same people who still believe the world is flat!

I think the longer the ruling is delayed just shows how weak the NFL*'s case is and how they are delaying an announcement, while trying to come up with a solution that allows them to damage the Pats where they don't end up getting destroyed in court.

Dan Wetzel is usually great. His article describing brady after the 2011 SB loss was fantastic

I think it is because they didn't want to be on the wrong side of a story. Initially, Deflategate had a lot of damning circumstantial evidence out there and few dug into or understood the scientific data. Now that there are reputable reports out there which debunk the science in the Wells report, they can confidently put their name on a story that questions the logic of NFL's handling of this whole witch hunt.

Hopefully the longer Roger waits the more of these type articles will get out.

Think of it from a neutral fan's perspective. The fact that he still remains suspicious may make the "there isn't any evidence" more believable.
