PFT: Settlement Talks Have Taken Place

This just proves what we already knew. The NFL is corrupt at its core. Other NFL owners lobbying over the disciplinary decision of a player on another team? Fricking ridiculous.
BINGO
Banana Republics have nothing on the NFL Justice Dept.

Why do u say that. Isn't the objective of a team a corporation to win? Why else would there be this lobby going on? Of course, an owner can wrap this in a nice pink bow and claim it's FOR INTEGRATY but you know n I what the purpose is. These owner actions make Kraft look naive

Brady's offer to the Rodger......
1) Drop the suspension
2) Publicly apologize for this witch hunt
3) Fire all NFL employees involved in the sting operation
4) Fine and take away draft picks from the Colts for illegally tampering with a game football
5) Give NE back its draft picks
6) Keep Krafty's million......he was just going to blow it on his "niece" anyway
7) Rename the Lombardi Trophy the Belichick Trophy
8) Resign as NFL commissioner
And once the NFL satisfies my conditions, I will cap damages at $50 million once the Minnesota Courts rule in my favor for damages inflicted on me by the NFL.

This is why he'll keep it at 4, on to court it goes

Attorney Gregg Levy, who was one of the finalists for the job Goodell received in 2006, participated in the Brady appeal hearing as a legal consultant to the Commissioner. It’s believed that Levy has been warning Goodell that it will be difficult to make a suspension stick in court, even under the heightened standard that applies to challenging the outcome of a private arbitration agreement.

So while there’s still no good way out of this mess for Goodell, the safest course for him personally would be to hold firm and to force a court to reduce the suspension — since Goodell suffers little or no P.R. consequence when one of his disciplinary decisions is reduced or wiped out by someone else
this is what I've consistently believed, and why this will have to go to court. Goodell can keep "faith" with his convictions and let some OTHER authority over turn his decision. "Not my fault, the court made be do it."

BTW- the longer this goes on, the better it will be for Tom's defamation case. This is currently the 2nd longest gap between an appeal and a decision in NFL history. There is no possible justification for this delay other than to "maliciously damage" Tom Brady and the Patriots in their preparation for the 2015 season.

Only if Robert had just keep his trap shut!

I like it. Wishful thinking but I like it.

Hope they got this offer in writing. Doesn't this help the case if they have proof they tried to negotiate? Not allowed in the CBA I believe.

The "32" has a Lord of the Flies feel to it...now that Kaving Krafty has assumed the role of Piggy

I'm sorry, but I don't get it.

We had a US Senator, up in arms, who brought out a giant investigation over a camera placed in the wrong direction, yet after all this nonsense: a clear sting operation, hypocrisy, slander and misinformation, no one has the balls to bring down or call out the corruptive NFL league office???

I mean seriously.... No one, who has the power, feels they need to do something about Goodell and his buddies? Hasn't this gone on long enough?

This is literally turing into the WWE. Goodell is playing the role of Vince McMahon and Vincent and Kensil as his stooges, Patterson and Brisco...

I don't believe any talks have taken place.........I believe it is a made up story by the NFL just so they could put out there that Goodell said no

first, whatever brady had to say was said at the appeal...that's how appeals work....and now it is goodells turn to hand down a verdict.....because that's how the appeal process works

next, I question the 'influential owners' .... chiming in at this point would represent a new brand of collusion by other teams against one team.......if this is really the case, the infighting will begin and it will cost the league a ton of money in lost profits in the end

So, let me see if I understand the latest news correctly. Judge Goodell is listening to the accusers, (other teams Indy and Baltimore), input before making a ruling on this appeal. How can this possibly make any logical sense?
To me, this is just more ammo for Brady and the NFLPA when they take Goodell to court.

If the Pats, inexplicably, traded Brady to one of the teams insisting that Brady serve the full suspension, integrity of the league, protect the shield and all of that, I'm guessing their hard line approach would soften a bit and they'd then support Brady's suspension being vacated.

Sorry, sometimes I just can't contain my cynical side. Truthfully we know the fact that Brady being their QB would make no difference, it all comes down to integrity and principles.

You forgot:

9) Goodell must cross the field at Gillette Stadium, present himself before this fanbase, put his head between his legs, and kiss his own arse.

I would like to have local FAA employees refuse landing requests for Goodell's aircraft opening weekend. And Mass Statee's secure boarder roads in case Goodell attempts to penetrate the perimeter in stealth fashion. BB will have "Six Rings" cover the ports.

This is just ANOTHER in a long series of programed "leaks" designed to enhance Goodell and stain the Pats and Brady. That was my initial reaction along with a prayer that Brady doesn't cave. However after looking at this thread, it could be that the league might have made a big mistake in this one. While the purpose was to show owner support for Goodell's position, a lot of the information they gave out can be easily spun in Brady's favor.

1. First the league acknowledges that they already KNOW they will lose in Court based on the facts they have violated the CBA. It's a virtual admission that the entire process has been corrupt from the start

2. They have acknowledged that he is listening to a SMALL group of owners who want to pressure Goodell. This again is a violation of the appeals process and further impugns the integrity of this entire process.

When Goodell decided to be the judge AND arbiter, he made almost as big a mistake as Kraft did. Allowing outside influences to present cases for or against the appeal is a huge violation of the arbiter's position. And again points out how corrupt that process has been

3. Again not giving any reason why this has dragged on for 6 months other than to hurt Brady and the Pats opens the league up to serious questions about their motives. (see future defamation suit)

4. Soon even the marginal haters are going to have to wonder where these so called "leaks" are coming from and their purpose. I'd love to see some investigative reports document each leak and its timing starting with Mort leak to this one. I'm sure it would be telling if anyone bothered to do the work.

I can see it. You realize it's all a sham right? They are emboldened because there isn't a massive backlash. Local influential media save for a few are all still saying Brady did something. If the teams own backyard is on board they will do whatever they want.

I doubt PFT would put that out there without a credible source.
