Will Belichick go "all-in" when Brady's window is closing?

The Pats method is oft imitated, but seldom duplicated... the metrics that they use to measure players abilities and ability to fit into these complex schemes that the Pats use would also have to be compromised as would the complex schemes, the more I think about it, the less feasible it sounds..

It ain't broke, don't fix it..

The phrase "all in" reminds me more of the Favre Jets or the Philly dream team disaster. "All in" is a misrepresentation of Belichick's most high profile offseasons.

Previous "all in" offseasons were the result of unpredictable roster changes throughout the league - Randy Moss becoming available for pennies, Revis getting cut. Opportunities arise suddenly and Belichick is opportunistic as they come.

Hopefully a similar opportunity presents itself as Brady's career winds down, but I would be shocked if Belichick decided to spend $12 million on a WR, or trade the farm for a CB, as a panic move.

This has probably been mentioned a few times already but I only skimmed:

If BB stays after Brady, which nothing points to that not happening, he will not mortgage the future for one last win and risk a Top 5 pick team the following seasons. It would diminish his legacy if he threw away chances to win without Brady, if anything we maybe see him build even more conservatively (while staying competitive as always) to ensure that the team will survive a QB transition.

Brady has proven time and time again that he can elevate the offense to the top tiers of the NFL against even the best defenses, and he does it every year. On top of not risking the future he simply doesn't NEED to.

I thought his window was closing 7 yrs ago

Many on here have criticized Belichick for not being aggressive enough or in "win-now" mode, citing other (dumb, proven to be wrong) teams like Denver and their catering to Manning's closing window. This talk has been prevalent on this board since roughly 2012 and would still dominate many discussions had not the Patriots won the Super Bowl with a great team, though one that was not necessarily much better than others that have come up short due to bad luck and injuries.

You mean something like signing players like Revis and Browner to one-year deals?

Or do you mean signing a kicker for over $4M a year and a safety for over $7M a year.

Certainly no team focused on the future would do these things.

No, it would be like signing Revis to a four-year deal where it is likely his production will decline and it ultimately be a bad deal for the team, but they are doing it to get his production in the next 1-2 years while they are contending with Brady (this is the way a lot of teams do it.)
