I'm not sure his numbers would be that different- if not less than what hes done in DET. Pats run an offense based on socialism, ball distribution and match-ups.

Caldwell pulled him in last year. With Megatron back 100% it'll be interesting to see how he does. The other issue is beyond Tate and Mega, Stafford doesn't have a lot of options....
Do you really need much more than that? Megatron and Tate is one hell of a 1/2. They've got a few guys who should be perfectly adequate as a third receiver. Plus they drafted Eric Ebron high at TE and Fauria & Pettigrew are ok. Plus Bell and now Abdullah at RB... I think that's a pretty good offensive depth chart.

I do think THAT team needs more than that in 2015.

Ebron has talent. He was ok last year as a rookie. He really needs to emerge.

Abdullah could be a good 3rd down RB. They like to throw to their RBs thats for sure.

Their running game was very average last year as is rest of their receiving corp/TE's

With the loss of Suh, they'll need to score more than 20ppg b/c they'll be allowing more than the 17 they did last year.

Agreed that the loss of Suh will be a big problem. I think some holes in the secondary will get exposed.

I think Abdullah can be the real deal, though.

He'll be more of a 3rd down RB guy next year but I think he a 1000yd guy.

Apologies for making this comment without reading the thread but Gronk showed why he's a nightmare in the Super Bowl. One of the best defenses since the 85 Bears and 00 Ravens couldn't come close to stopping him. Healthy Gronk, healthy Brady = in with a chance no matter what.

He's underrated? By who? I hear jets fans..bills fans talk all the time...."great..we have to face Gronk this week"

Best part is he's still so young... He will continue to be dominant beyond Brady. Jimmy G (or whomever) will enjoy having him around. I also wonder if a TE ages better than a WR?

It's because players use PFF to rate players...no joke! Just ask aqib talib!

I can understand why you say he's underrated. Gronk is superior to calvin johnson or any receiver in the NFL. When it's just a one on one drill anyone would take Calvin Johnson. But a 11 on 11. Gronk is just way more dynamic. Never leaves the field. Can do it all effectively. What a game changer he is. I've said it before and I'll say it again, If we had a healthy Gronk in 11, 12, and 13 we win the Superbowl. It's as simple as that. Gronk is elite. Gronk should be making 16 million a year at least. It's crazy what a bargain we get for him.

Another problem is everyone still looks at stats to determine if the player is good. 2011 was irritating. As if Graham vs Gronk was even a contest. But a lot thought it was and even said Graham was superior to Gronk. What a joke!

The injury prone comment is just how dumb people are. Everyone would get injured from Pollard and Ward. That's not being injury prone.

Top 100 voting is done by players handing in a list of their top 20. There will be plenty of bias towards teammates, every Seahawk player probably voted Lynch #1, except Doug Baldwin, who voted Doug Baldwin at 1, 2 and 4-10, with Lynch ranking 3rd.

In reality there could be like 5 votes differentiating every top 10 player outside of JJ Watt. Who should never be the MVP even if he's the best player in the NFL.

Scott Chandler is the most valuable non-QB skill player in the NFL, only no one knows that yet. He is going to have a monster year. His arrival to replace Tim Wright is absolutely huge. Gronk can get some plays off when needed, and together they are a mismatch.

I'm looking forward to seeing the Patriots come out in a five receiver set that includes Gronk, Edelman, LaFell, a healthy Dobson, and Chandler. Defenses will have fun covering that. If Dobson can get and stay healthy, he should be facing midget corners who he can dominate as we've seen him flash occasionally.

Put Tyms in there in place of Edelman, and the Patriots can go 6-6, 6-7, 6-3, 6-3, 6-3. All you guys who use to complain bitterly about the smurf patrol of the early 2010s now have your wet dream of a tall, talented receiving corps.

Even running back Travaris Cadet is 6-1, if he makes the team and takes over the Shane Vereen running back/wideout role.

When the situation is right, Josh can still throw a smurf patrol out there of Edelman, Amendola, and Boyce to go with the tight ends.

I love the flexibility of this grouping. It never ceases to amaze me how weaknesses become strengths in the NFL, and vice versa (cornerback.)

Edelman plays like he's 6'3", no reason to ever remove him.

Height doesn't matter if Tyms can't get open or run the right route. Seems like he goes deep mostly. Hopefully he can improve.

He really isn't underrated in the media. He is constantly talked about as the best te in the league, and possibly best of all time if healthy. He's loved by most nfl media

I agree with that. He's flashed ability to play at the NFL level and is coming into his 4th year in the league, so this is a big offseason for him. I was impressed with his ability to fight for the ball when covered in training camp. If he could be a reliable route runner opposite LaFell, he could be a 30-40 receptions/year player which would be a genuine threat with all the other options on the field.

The receiving corps is deep, talented, and diverse. It will be interesting to see how the backfield shakes out. I was hoping they could reach a deal with Vereen to go with Blount as the core of that group. RB is one position where players can step in and produce, so I'm not too concerned.

The offense looks great going into camp. If the Deflategate crap goes away, this will be a prolific offense.

It's because he's a Patriot. If he was anywhere else, but he'd be talked about as the greatest of all time already. It's truly a shame because he's the biggest chess piece any NFL offense has.
I was prepared to come in and talk about how WR is always the more glamorous position, which I believe it is to most people. However, yes, there is a reluctance to give the Patriots credit for anything, including the individual greatness of players. Even Tom Brady gets downplayed, and that was before "Deflategate." I'm resigned to the fact that this is just the way it is always going to be with the Patriots. Who cares, though? I love my Team and it's individuals.

Dez is getting $15M a year vs $10M for Gronk....he has more bang for the buck than Dez.
