Peter King on Brady, the tune is changing?

Goodell ain't overturning or reducing anything. mike reiss thinks so and he is almost spot on in his intuition. His gut told him that Connelly was going to retire and it happened.

Reiss reported his hunch based on the fact that he had recently seen Connelly at a fundraiser and that he had slimmed down tremendously.

Your education of King on the IGL, helped him understand that Well's/Exponent's science deeply flawed.

I contacted about 10 national sportwriters in all, and the only two that responded and thanked me were Florio and King. They were genuinely interested enough to consider the science (and I later learned that Florio has an engineering background). Maybe some others cared too, and I'm sure that they all get tons of emails, but it isn't a mystery why these two guys have been way up there in doubting what Wells had to say.

Regardless of where they started out in their opinion, they weren't afraid to look at new info and say "Hold on... this can't be right", It is what journalists are SUPPOSED to do, but that seems a quaint idea these days.

If Goodell were smart he'd say "you know what? The NFL did a lousy job gathering the PSI info and Exponent did a lousy job evaluating it." And then throw out the Brady suspension.

That MIGHT make it go away to a degree for him. Heck he'd probably figure a way to justify maintaining the Patriots draft pick losses to in order to appease the Haters. Goodell knows the only thing most NFL fans hate more than him, is the Patriots. The issue wouldn't be resolved to anyone's liking, but Goodell would avoid more scrutiny

As it stands he REALLY should want to avoid any scrutiny of the Wells Report

Their bias is clear for anyone to see.... even the fact that the Colts also had balls under 12.5 on one gauge

The funny thing about that is that Wells writes that off the Colts under-inflation by effectively saying "for the Colts, we're going to assume the higher gauge was the right one.?

For the Patriots however, Wells assumes that the LOWER one was the right one - in fact at every turn where Wells has to make an assumption, he assumes the worst for the Patriots, including the opposite of the "best recollection" of the lead official.

This keystone cops sting operation itself is something that Goodell REALLY shouldn't want looked into - because again it's all there for everyone to see. The leaks of false information - supposedly the NFL - and then the NFL itself in a written letter ALSO using those SAME numbers to fluster the Patriots when they KNEW the stated PSI were wrong. Trying to scare an admission from the Patriots since, darn it, those balls actually really WEREN'T deflated?

This whole thing is a rabbit hole of an NFL HQ where officials are fans and former Jets Presidents first - the furthest thing from their mind is their responsibility to be honest and unbiased arbitrators of a sport expected to be played on an even playing field

When you have NFL HQ Officials so blatanty conspiring to catch the Pats in a sting operation - and then frame or coerce a confession when the sting fails because the balls aren't inflated

Let's just say that;s going to tarnish the shield and undermine the integrity of the game in a MAJOR way

But we know Roger isn't smart - so don't get your hopes up (just wait til GoodellGate!)

Nearly every single effing player in the league is openly Christian, regularly praises god in interviews, and engage in group prayers before and after each and every game at mid field and no one ever says anything, ever, but because one specific guy was called out because he gets maybe a bit too political about it when he's supposed to be talking about football OH NO CHRISTIANS ARE BEING OPPRESSED. Blame ESPN for making everyone sick and tired of Tebow due to their 24/7 wall to wall Tebow coverage when he was a backup QB, not because of his religion.

That's a load of bull. He was getting attacked by the bigots while he was still in Florida, and this has been gone over about a million times.

His name is still Bruce (despite what he WANTS to be called) and he'll always be a man, regardless of how much work he has done on his plumbing, etc.

Why? because of that whole pesky XX/XY Chromosome thingee. :) Until scientists manage to find a way to sort that out, Bruce is just a human equivalent of those VW Beetles with the Rolls Royce dress-up kit. It might look interesting, but underneath it's still a Volkswagon Beetle.

BTW I found this to be interesting:

As with most things in life, this whole topic isn't nearly as black-and-white as it might seem. For 99 out of 100 people, gender is abundantly clear because the biology speaks for itself. For a very small number of people, it's not quite so simple. At this point, it's established scientific fact that there can be a biological basis behind transsexuality. It's a complicated issue, and I'm not sure where it ends up, but I'm positive that ridiculing people for trying to come to grips with their own biology isn't the answer.

Edit: here's some more links further demonstrating that there is a biological basis for transsexuality. I'm sure some people will prefer to ignore the unambiguous facts that these conclusions represent, but in case others with a more open mind on this topic are curious:

No, it's not.

Or, if that's the extent of your argument, I'm fine just leaving it as is

You made a false claim (" it's established scientific fact that there can be a biological basis behind transsexuality", and your links don't back up your claim. Yes, let's leave it at that, since this is a football board.

The very least you could do, as a learned man Deus, is supply a few links that counters @BradyFTW! You would expect others to do the same rather than cut and run.

For the sake of avoiding one of the more random and unexpected derailments this forum's ever seen, I think moving on might be for the best. We've both made our cases, and I don't see anyone's minds being changed anyway.

It is a peculiar point of discussion but it's more the hypocrisy of it all. Deus is intelligent. He also tends to present his opinion as an irrefutable fact. That I don't like because you deserved a reasonable response (given your history of excellent commentary) that demanded more than no it doesn't.

FTR, I reached my Karjenner saturation point about 2 years ago. Bruce is the only one I respect because he was a marvellous athlete. The rest, meh.

Wear what you want to wear, speak like you want to speak, and be who you want to be. As long as it doesn't restrict my life and conversely my life doesn't restrict yours then all the power to you. There shouldn't be any argument regarding self or the perception of self.

Reiss is plugged into this team like no other reporter.

I am amazed at how many times he'll say the "patriots should draft player X" only to see player X playing well for some other team.

Poor Tim Tebow, I guess even the statue wasn't enough.........

Deus opinions are irrefutable fact.

I just wish someone would put Caitlyn's Olympic feats on video to the tune of Petty's American Girl.

Considering the fact that I haven't posted in this thread yet and it changed so much from page 1 to 3, I think this meme is appropriate...
