Amanda Belichick, the daughter of New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick, was hired Friday as head coach of the women's lacrosse team at Holy Cross.

You can't deflate a lacrosse ball so expect them to switch it out with a wiffle ball.

I'm psyched. My girls love lacrosse and I live outside of Worcester. Who knows what kind of gray-hoodied people I might run into at HC Field.

I remember an article a few years back suggesting the Patriots had traded a third rounder to Arkansas for Darren McFadden. What they would do with it was not explained.

I'm a big fan of LAX in general, and like its physicality, but because women aren't allowed to check. It makes for a far less interesting spectator sport. To my untrained eye, it looks like the girls are just running around in circles cradling the ball until they fumble and the other team picks it up.

Amanda climbs the food chain in women's sports, would be nice to see perennial powerhouses in this area in some of the "lesser sports"..
