What is so effing great about the Clownboys? Talk about living in your wasted years, to coin a phrase uttered by < this guy.

Studies like this are worthless, they have poorly defined criteria. This one said it takes into account wins and losses, which is why the Pats are #2. It also figures ticket prices which is why the Cowboys are there. They have the most expensive tickets and they are outrageous. Even though they haven't been very good, people will pay it. A lot of people in Dallas have deep pockets and can afford it. I wouldn't consider Cowboys fans as loyal though because there are a lot of fair weather fans in the Dallas area

Who gives a f? Waste of time and energy.

We are fans of the team not the pathetic Putz that owns it.

LOL We'll see what this fanbase looks like in about 6 years, or so.

I would have thought the NYJ would have been selected #1.... In the League office alone the Jets fans outnumber all of the Rams fans in STL.

Seems about right. Cowboys have retained lots of fans, including outside their market, which is large in itself.

I also agree with the "who gives a fark" comments.

the best fanbase HAS to be the Rat fanbase....die hards following THAT shyt stink franchise for 45 years? Sainthood immediately upon demise...think about it...would YOU ever think of being a Jet fan...EVER???

i cant think of anything more nauseating

If you take a trip down memory lane the Cowboys from the 70's on were labeled "America's Team" and imprinted in our collective brains.. every year when the Sears & JC Penney catalogs would come out there would be bedspreads with the Dallas Cowboys star for your children's room... there were other teams featured(Chicago, Jets, Oakland etc.), but the "lesser teams"(including the Patriots) were not available..

I suspect that the marketing genius of the Cowboys then imprinted a certain amount of pride and fandom that will never subside... OTOH the Jets continue to ride their day of glory that happened in 1969....

I know several fans that base their loyalty off of association. For instance I have a friend who is a Laker,Yankee,Cowboys fans from northern California.

To be honest as a kid growing up watching NFL films their presentation is a really strong attraction for some of the those franchises like the Cowboys,Steelers
Raiders and Dolphins. It's almost brainwashing in a way and I assume one of the reasons a kid out of the state of Pennsylvania would choose to follow the Steelers. Or their family ties just didn't involve football.

Or as a MA born friend of mine put it, a waste of oxygen.
