Brady appeal decision coming next week?

does brady have to talk?? i understand the midweek press conferences but what about the sit downs with nbc/espn/nfln?? does he HAVE to talk to them? lol
lets say we get to another SB, brady should do the minimum amount of time like lynch and walk out. would be brilliant.

Technically, no player has to talk to anyone. Keep in mind that they end up caving in due to the NFL's threat of fining them every week, due to the agreement in place to make one's self reasonably available to the media on a weekly basis.

In the case of TFB, he has plenty of money to blow, although I doubt he'd choose to do that, personally.

He could still reverse Brady's suspension and avoid going to court because the team penalties still stand. I can see him talking to Kraft and saying "I'm thinking of reversing Brady's suspension but I want your assurance that you won't reverse your decision to accept the team penalties. If you are having second thoughts, then I just should fight it out in court" Kraft by caving and accepting the penalties, gave Goodell a way out of this mess he got himself into. I'm not sure Goodell is smart enough to take it.

Most likely it will be just a reduction in Brady's suspension and a fight in court.

I don't think it's possible for Goodell to exonerate Brady while keeping the team penalties. We don't know exactly what Brady's argument was during the appeal but at no point leading up to it did I ever feel his legal team was claiming "he didn't know anything." It's always been "this didn't happen." That's been the the fight all along.

Goodell would need to explain what was said during the appeal that led him to conclude that the deflation took place but Brady definitely knew nothing about it. I don't think that stance was ever taken by Brady though.

The only way he can exonerate Brady is to throw out the whole case and the Pats get their picks back. That's obviously not happening.

Goodell is not exonerating anybody. Why do you think he and Kraft did that photo op yesterday?...and now THIS announcement. The Billionaires Boys Club is in complete solidarity, Goodell looks like he's back to his old "aww shucks, I just do this for our FANS" bullshyt, and the BBC with the ol' Dodger will fight this next front in federal court betting that Brady folds...like he always has for the Bobster.

There IS no "case", no "issue", no "decision" to be made about ANYTHING. This whole mirage has been one huge P.R. masterplan from the start.I believe the hubris being exhibited by NFL offices is going to be their Achilles heel. If they skate out of this with no damage, then this league is nothing but one huge con job being perpetrated on the fans and followers of this NFL "product".

Rodger Goodell's underlying thinking and system of values regarding the 'Deflategate' appeal is best summed up by this movie executive's statement:

"I had a guaranteed military sale with ED 209 - renovation program, spare parts for twenty-five years... Who cares if it worked or not?"

let's just hope kraft being BFFs with goodell pays off here....

The way this has all unfolded, I don't think they're friends.. its more Kraft is like a toy poodle that follows Goodell around begging for attention and affection.

Clearly Kraft is Goodell's *****

We're all on the same page here, right? That we DON'T want Goodell to reduce the penalty, or if he does a reduction to 2 games. The WORST case scenario is Goodell vacating the suspension, Brady not going to court, and everyone around the country being able to say 'yeah Kraft just worked out a deal with Goodell, but they still cheated'.

The ONLY way the narrative changes is if Brady fights this in court and gets real analyses like AEI's and Tom's that debunk the Wells report into the mainstream news. Gets people talking about the Gardi letter and Mort report and why the NFL would let the Patriots face accusations from the media that were completely false, left the team blowing in the wind based on faulty info.

That's the only way this ends well. So come on Goodell, keep the suspension at 4, PLEASE!

Thats not in our best interests anymore because the draft picks are gone, there is no getting them back. if it were possible to overturn that decision as well, then I'd be all for it but if Goodell removes Brady's 4 game suspension completely, then it's best to just end this and move on to 2015.

If he only reduces it to 2 games, then they need to go scorched earth mode on the NFL

Ah the naivete of youth. Remember when we knew that Wells would be impartial, that his report would exonerate Brady and dig down deep into the complete lack of ethics in the sting operation and expose the NFL and its inaccurate leaks?

"Could be very soon & could be next week" It has only been just about a month and they make it seem like they just did the appeal yesterday. Give us our answer already!

How long could it possibly take to write "DENIED"? Can we please just proceed to "for real-sy" court?

It's a shame that goodell's decision will be based only on what's best for his image, what will keep the owners and fans happy, and what will make the most money for the league

It seems that the only thing that won't be considered is whether Brady actually did anything wrong

goodell really is a piece of ****.

He will wait as long as possible to screw the Patriots 1) During the preseason so they have to prepare two QBs and 2) it limits the amount of time they have to get an injunction to keep Brady playing.......

And the more I think about it, that photo of Kraft and Goodell yesterday was likely a planned photo op to show that Kraft is still 'tight' with the Commish.....and Kraft will back him when he upholds the penalties...

This what really grinds my gears. I get the impression that Goodell derives true enjoyment from tormenting Patriots fans. What the hell did we do to deserve this? Having the audacity to enjoy our team's success?

Jealousy, pure unadulterated jealousy.......
And a petty man who is personification of the Peter Principle via family ties and connections, surrounded by sycophants.

I hope he keeps it at four and adds a few for good measure. I am looking forward to Brady and his team of lawyers ripping the NFL to shreds in federal court.

I don't think it's possible for Goodell to exonerate Brady while keeping the team penalties.

Of course it is possible:
"On reviewing all the evidence I find that McNally and Jastremski were deflating footballs but Brady did not know about it at all. Brady's suspension is vacated. The team penalties stand because team employees were doing illegal things."

(Now mind you, what I really believe Goodell will do is do nothing and let the suspension stand as is.)

Absolutely correct. I can remember not so long ago when Joker, myself and a few others were being ridiculed as tin-hat wearers for saying the Pats were going to get screwed by the POS's Kangaroo court and dictated report. I must confess that I didn't believe that the punishment would be so outrageous. In addition I regret standing up for Kraft despite my prior reservations, when it appeared that he would actually stand up for his team and its fans. He certainly won the Benedict Arnold medal when the chips were down.

It would be even worse than that.

"Upon review, the evidence is insufficient to convict Tom, the dictates of common sense notwithstanding."

Sun Valley.. isn't the summer camp for billionaires right about now?

Insert eyerolls where applicable.

That first outcome is my biggest fear.
