Don't know if you guys follow the NBA but Cuban's Mavericks got big time boned when the player they verbally agreed to sign went back on his agreement to return to his team(same thing Emmanual Sanders did). Chris Broussard starts making **** up and Cuban calls him out. Wish Kraft did this to Mort. **** ESPN love Cuban for telling it like it is. One of the best owners in sports.

I really wish Cuban owned the Patriots during this mess. I would have loved to see how he would have responded to all this b.s. You know he would have gone to the mattresses. He would aggressivesly attack Mort, Kensil, Exponent, Vincent, and Goodell. He would fight them legally and through the media. And he would have Brady's back 100%. It would have been a blitzkrieg against the NFL.

Mark is a smart guy. He would never want to be an owner of the NFL but I bet he would have the balls to stick up for his team rather than kiss the ass of a giant douche commissioner like Goodell.

Brady and BB are alpha dogs........they want the responsibility, the pressure.....and the pack follows.
Kaving Krafty is the classic beta dog...submissive to authority. Kraft's deference to the commissioner in Spygate and Deflategate is similar to Kraft's beta dog cameos in Bill Belichick: A Football Life. In scenes where both BB and Kraft were together, there's no question who the alpha dog is.
Kraft deferring is just his nature...part of his DNA

Alpha/Beta is far too simple of an explanation in any complex situation. Strategic and tactical decisions can be made by either personality type that go against the stereotypes. Alpha/Beta should not be confused with will. I have known some people who appear to be submissive who are unshakable once they've picked a battle.... something I was hoping to see Kraft do.

It looks like Kraft is old and wants little more than to be accepted by the club that he fought so hard for so long to join. It truly is sad when we chose comfort and the status quo in the face of clear injustice.

I don't care for the NBA and I don't really know much about Mark Cuban but I like his style! :)

.

You forget, Kaving Krafty tried to battle by creating his nifty rebuttal to the Wells Report....but another alpha dog (Goodell) snarled in Kaving Krafty's direction and BOB immediately tucked his tail between his legs and retreated to the draft pick/million dollar fine woodshed for his beating. "Unshakable" Bob wouldn't even utter Brady's name once Bob's alpha projected dominance. Embarrassing

All of that is true, but if he had control of the roster-building strategy as he does in Dallas, (A) Belichick wouldn't be here, and (B) you would have been cursing him left and right for years. [Say what you want about Belichick, he's not just merely kept this team in the playoff hunt for years, but going deep into the playoffs most years.]

Belichick basically giving kraft the finger during their BB football life scenes was hilarious :D

? Cuban has done a terrific job building the Mavs. Should have two titles if it weren't for crooked officiating.

He was doing a good job up through winning the title. Since then, not so much. Cuban's strategy has basically been to try and land a big star, and that's gone belly up each year (quite spectacularly this year). Worse, he's been the anti-Belichick as far as the draft goes, trading away future picks for "help" in the present. As much as we might criticize Belichick for making draft mistakes, he's done worlds better than the Mavericks have.

Now they're in a situation where they must choose between trying to help Dirk win one more title before he retires and tanking so they can finally land a top player through the draft. [The Celtics get their 2016 first-rounder unless it's in the top 7; thanks to the lottery, that means the Mavs have to finish with one of the four worst records in the league to guarantee they hang on to that pick.]

Chris Broussard is a total piece of ****, glad to see him getting smacked down.

Cuban's strategy is viable (and arguably the right one) in the NBA. NBA and NFL roster construction are very, very different. In the NBA, the path to winning is having 2 superstars and a third star. If you have multiple stars playing on extremely team-friendly deals, you can get around that somewhat by 'only' having two guys in this category supplemented by a ton of depth 1-8 on your roster. But even among the teams that exemplify this, those teams are still headlined by legit stars (GS has the MVP in Curry, DPOY runner up in Green, and legit star in Klay Thompson). And San Antonio has embraced this philosophy by signing LaMarcus Aldridge and Kawhi Leonard to max deals.

Cuban's executing the same vision that most of the top teams are attempting, because it's really the only way to make get back into championship contention without bottoming out and tanking like the Cavs and Warriors did. As much as I like what the Celtics have done, they're probably going to find this out the hard way unless they strike gold with one of the picks that they traded for, or manage to package them for a star.

It's a much different game tho. I'm okay with failure if your going for the home runs. You need stars to win in this league unless you have Poppovich as your coach. Ainge is just preserving his cap space until he can do the same. Definitely in a tough spot now. Ainge would trade Dirk but I think Cuban is too tight with him.

And for all the reasons you state are the why the current NFL owners won't let Cuban own an NFL team: because Cuban actually has a spine and all these old, filthy rich, oil/finance brats don't.

Even Popovich needs stars, they just maxed out two players this past week. They're the most Patriots-like team in the NBA, but the roster construction changes the philosophy a bit.

I agree that you need 2-3 stars to compete. There's really no alternative, so the only differences in team building are how you get those stars. Some teams tank and try to draft them with their own picks (76ers). Some teams trade for picks and try to either package them for a star or draft a star with someone else's picks (Celtics). Others rely on being a premium free agency destination to attract stars when they hit FA (Miami, Lakers).

Face it Kraft is Goodells lapdog. Goodell tells him to sit he sits, Goodell tells him to crap he craps. I'm convinced that the only reason he is Billionaire is because of Mrs. Craft. I'm sure if she told him to sit down he did.

Cuban is an awesome owner because he's pretty much a fan who just happens to own a team. Love that he sits with the fans instead of a big fancy owner's box.

Actually the late Mrs. Kraft's family provided the money for the Putz to get started. She was most definitely the moral compass for the family. I have to question whether some of his actions would have taken place if she was alive.

Love how Mark Cuban says put-up or shut-up.

@Chris_Broussard how about this. You post any proof I was calling/texting his friends asking anything I give 100k to charity of yr choice.

Broussard is getting ripped apart on twitter.
