@AndySlater: Big Jason Pierre-Paul story about to break in S. Fla. He severely injured hand in fireworks accident. @Coach_Eisy first to hint at situation

Idiot...when will people learn that fireworks are a dangerous thing to use if not handled properly? A young kid (22) died in Calais, Maine yesterday after shooting fireworks off of his head...

Man, the kid had an incredible rookie year and then has completely s.hit the bed the last few seasons due to injuries. And now this.

Saw some twitter comments saying it was fake, but PFF just wrote up a short article, making sure to protect themselves by saying there are no details yet and that noone really knows whats going on.

Tweets make this sound like an ugly and unfortunate situation.

Rumors that he blew off chunks of a few fingers and missing other parts of flesh.

Could be career ending. The rest of your post certainly isn't needed when it comes to this.

Edit: He also never signed his franchise tag as twitter reminds.

Non of the stuff out there about this sounds good. Yikes.

Ya I've been surfing the net to try and find out the real deal and I've heard everything from it's totally fake to he blew off some fingers.

That is pretty amazing

Tweets make this sound like an ugly and unfortunate situation. That said, all non Patriots can go f*ck themselves. The witch hunt has turned me into a full blown hater.
I'm with you. I'll start feeling sorry for other teams' problems when their fans start feeling sorry for my team's problems. This isn't a case of someone contracting a fatal disease or some other sad case. This nitwit engaged in irresponsible behavior. Tough sh##. I'm sure there are millions of New Jersey Giant fans who would feel sorry for a Patriot in the same situation.

Kid here in Nashville died earlier this week after a fireworks mishap. SMH people don't seem to understand fireworks are dangerous

Certainly, we want to try and remain human/gracious/classy towards other teams, players, etc.

Belichick Fan's sentiments are understandable though.

Now how many died due to drinking?

Drinking isn't always dangerous and most humans drink responsibly without special training and certification. Fireworks are always dangerous and require special training.

Basically, what I'm saying is your comparison is stupid.

Saying fireworks are always dangerous and require special training is, let's say, at least dependent upon the particular fireworks under discussion.

Pretty sure most humans use fireworks responsibly with no certification and even less education than drinking.

For something that isn't dangerous i'd bet there are probably far more deaths.

Now how many died due to drinking?
If you teach your kids to drink responsibly (however you term responsible buzzed acting without sounding like a beer commercial), shouldn't you teach them to not hold the bomb in their hand while the fuse is lit?

Ohhhh....waitaminute.....just read the story and turns out the guy who lit the mortar tube on his head had been drinking.
Imagine that.
Cuz he wasn't part of that vast majority of responsible drinkers.

I'll just claim this one for my column, thank you very much.
Feel free to hop back up on the pulpit and push for prohibition.

Looking fwd to your next andy rooney on the dangers of driving
