Humility! It amazes me when I hear people claim that Brady is ****y and full of himself. Couldn't be farther from the truth. I've never seen a player who praises other teams more and puts fault on himself more then Brady.

I just watched the 2nd half of the superbowl for probably the 50th time. Tom Brady get handed the Lombardi trophy and gets asked a question by Dan Patrick about being down 10 in the 4th qtr. And his first response is to take fault in his own play. "Its not how we drew it up and throwing a couple of picks didn't help"

Might not be worthy of its own thread, but it seems every time I re-watch the game I notice something new.

No doubt. That's what made his character assassination so difficult to swallow. He is the exact opposite of how he was portrayed in recent months and it is so infuriating. It's been 14 years and there's no athlete in the world I have been more impressed with as a player and a person. What has taken place made me want to vomit and quit watching the NFL altogether when he hangs up his cleats. I think that remains the case.

Oh yeah, he's always awesome like that.

Kind of refreshing living through the selfie generation and a league full of dudes building brands

So many NFL (and NBA) stars have been idolized since youth. The popularity of FB and BB at the high school and collegiate levels has created monsters. Yet, Brady - who played on a high profile college team - remains confident but far from "in your face".

In the end : winning is all that matters. The 0-16 Lions were coached by an exceptional gentleman (by all accounts). But who wants that ? Not me. Bonus that Brady is humble, but main thing is winning. Brady is a winner.

When you have hate or jealousy, you can't see anything else. That applies to every part of life; haters, bigots, racists, sheep, etc.

Here's an interesting view of Aaron Rodgers. While the NFL is doing its best to brand him as the golden boy of the sport, a lot of my packers friends say he's a douche. Exact words are "Jay Cutler but wins"

Really?
That's a bit disappointing, between his photobombing and commercials he came off like kind of a cool dude.

Yeah my boss has said multiple times how he and his wife think Brady comes off as smug in his interviews. Ummmmm..............what?

That's ptetty typical reaction to anybody successful.
That's why people would hate bird and the celtics back in the 80s.

Was there ever a more down to earth superstar yhan larry bird?
I think ee've been pretty lucky in boston.

You need to tell your boss that he and his wife are clueless idiots. If he takes exception, show him this post and have him look me up. I'll expound on it for him.

The fact that they can't find any real reason to bury him is exactly why stuff like this takes hold, IMO. Pretty much every state outside New England is upset that there's a QB/human of this caliber in the NFL, and he's not their QB. It manifests itself in some seriously ugly jealousy, basically in the form of just making stuff up since there's nothing real to pin on him.

Hence you get people going nuts over the fact that he didn't marry the mother of his first child (despite the fact that he's very much a father to his kid), or calling him out for being ****y/arrogant while celebrating the same exact traits in every other elite athlete on the planet, or making fun of Uggs as if that's somehow worse than being a spokesman for Papa John's garbage excuse for pizza. Or deflategate- it all fundamentally comes down to the same thing.

Long before deflategate I've heard so many people say that Brady is arrogant and full of himself and it just blows my mind. I wonder what planet they're living on and if they've ever seen an interviews with him.

It's one of the odd traits for people. When we look for something in other people, we can generally find it.

And Brookline Country Club is considering his application why?? Perhaps he is not snobby or elite enough, "a man of the people so to speak"...

What they've seen is that he exudes confidence, and they project their own flawed interpretations and see it as arrogance or ****iness.

He is likely one of the few ( if only) players in the NFL whose spouse earns more ( by a large margin) than him and he seems extremely comfortable with that.....Couple the looks, the success, the money and you understand the jealousy of others....More power to him, he worked for everything he got....

Brady is hated by many for one simple reason..or emotion I should say ..jealousy.
people are jealous of his looks, his wife, his money, his life.

,..and mny assume wrongly that good looking people get all the breaks and never have to work hard.

Ok, so what was the excuse with bird?
