Efff Napoli  ... seriously ... time to cut.o_O

had to make this thread to get it off my chest ...

a lot of these guys should go. Napoli sucks. Papi is done IMO...spent a lot on HanRam and Panda. I would rather get regular ABs to Brock Holt. Dont even get me started on the pitching.

the entire team is a disaster. cherrington and bill james should be **** canned unless john henry and larry were calling the shots. if thats the case the team is screwed. what a awful off season they had. the redsox rely far to much on bill james and his advanced statistical data money ball bs. they need somebody new evaluating prospects because the young guys coming up the last several years arent working out.

Bill James has not realized bullpens happened ... it's why his numbers are useless now.

Very disappointed in Napoli; he had such a good spring and his off-season surgery seemed to go well, I thought that he would have a real good season as the 5/6 hitter. But nobody from 4-8 has had even a just good season, and combined with our not-so-good-either starting pitching, and the result is what we see daily.

Is it just me or does it seem as if Napoli can't catch up with fastballs anymore? Also, it seems to me that the expanded strike zone has him more baffled than anyone else.

Yeah Napoli, Victorino (obviously) and Ortiz all got old, and washed-up, at the same time…and Fat Panda is old before his time.

the Sox need to be more like the Patriots and get rid of players right before they get old and useless...the Sox seem to get guys that are on the decline. They can sure horde talent though in the minor leagues. The Sox front office is about to turn into a pumpkin pretty soon with these terrible deals they have handed out.

I am officially nominating Joe Kelly to this thread ...

Anyone want to second that motion?

Million dollar arm with a 10 cent pitching brain.

I will second that. Kelly should be getting better results with his arm but just not putting it together.

this just in...Napoli has struck out for the 4th time in the game. Awesome

The Dead Sux might possibly have the stupidest pitching staff in baseball.

Schilling was on WEEI this morning ... commenting on Kelly's fast ball and changeup which is as good as it gets.
Schill is not sure if even being a relief pitcher will help Kelly .... time to package Napoli and Kelly with a few prospects that have some appeal ... addition by subtraction. Move Ramirez to 1B and bring up Bradley for now.

I'd include Bradley in trades; he will never, ever hit major league pitching.

A baseball team cannot absorb more than one .200 hitter. When you have 2 or more, it's like a free inning that comes around. It addition, it kills rallies, etc... Likewise on the pitching staff. Having 2 (or more) pitchers that consistently leave the team in a losing hole is not conducive to winning results. In a nutshell: This is a mess. In fact, it was a planned mess, but with fingers crossed. How silly!

What I want to know is where does management find these clowns who come across as Fantasy League Baseball guys with personal connections?

Joe can't typically get through a lineup more than once. Translation: he's a reliever. Either he wants to capitalise on what he brings to a team or he wants to chase his own (personal) dream that leaves the said team(s) in the "L" column. Hey, Joe. Consider being the best reliever in the game. You'll be paid and appreciated a lot more. Being fixated on positions in sports can oft ruin a player's development/career.

Joe "Cy Young" Kelly...what a joke.

If only for trading Lester & Lackey for Porcello, Kelly & Allen Craig, Benny Cherry should be fired.

Napoli hitting .196 ....
But we'll leave him in there waiting for the 1 week where he tears the cover off the ball.

Napoli is so bad that Ortiz will start at 1b on Sunday.

aaaaaaaaaaand, goodbye
