kind of a cryptic tweet

Yea he really lost it and did a crazy 180. The only single thing which looked bad is Dorito Dink called himself the deflator in a text from May 2014 during an off season weight loss competition.

SOV rode the horse too hard and then bailed too early. I think he was basing a business based on a bet he was going to be shown right about this.

As far as I'm concerned, people who do a 180 on this are the same as the people who still think Brady is guilty. People like Jackie McMullen are meaningless to me - they came out and pointed the finger at brady.

A little stressed out Sup?

I stopped listening to anything from SOV once the Wells Report came out and had no idea about their future remarks. Defending them because they hasn't been wrong to date during the Wells Investigation was just one of the many mistakes I made in evaluating what was going on.

Good enough for you?

You responded to a pretty basic post of mine with a one-worded "huh?" as though there was something unclear.

I presume that it was either an attempt to question my statement that SoV totally changed their (his) minds after the report, or that you disagree that he was clearly a fraud the whole time. I figured if I went back and listed some of his statements in the days after the report came out, I'd cover both bases.

(A)Troy Vincent on Tuesday: "Tom Brady <insert word that imitates cheating> and it is <impugning phrase> that the NFLPA would spend money defending him".
(B)On or prior to Tuesday Rodger Goodell (privately to his staff): "We are reversing our decision on Tom Brady. He is exonerated".

Considering those two pieces of information, here is a formula that is right up Exponent's alley: A+B=BS.

Vincent's interview was a BFD as it, IMHO, indirectly announced Rodger's decision on the 'Deflategate' appeal (there may be tweaks to the final outcome but the 'Brady Cheated' thesis will be unchanged). The Commissioner's 'circle of integrity' would be significantly softening their stance on Brady if they were even slightly contemplating a partial or full exoneration of Brady. Which means this railroading is, in effect, already onto the next appeal phase/headed to court (unless Brady relents which I would be shocked if he does). We just need to wait for the Commissioner to make the official announcement (one that I suspect will be timed and worded in such a way to maximize the PR damage to Brady).

From my own petty personal view on this appalling fiasco, a large part of me is glad it is very likely headed to Federal court. This is probably the one and only chance to dig up potentially damaging if not embarrassing discussions/communications on Rodger, Wells, and anyone else personally involved with this railroading. It's the one chance for someone with far more power than Goodell to publicly admonish him/question his motives/impugn him.
While there is only a small chance of this ultimately happening, even a small chance to be able to smile and say 'once and a while there is justice in the world' is worth it.

I thought it was an idiotic joke when I woke and read it the day after the Super Bowl

WRONG

I thought it would be wrapped up the first week and no big deal.

WRONG

I thought bringing in an "Independent investigator would work in the Patriots favor.

WRONG

I thought Ted Wells would value the reputation of his firm as well as his own more than his deal with the league.

WRONG

I thought science and logic would prevail.

WRONG

I thought Kraft would stand up for his team.

WRONG

I thought the frame job by Kensil and company would be exposed.

WRONG

I thought the worst case scenario was a small fine.

WRONG

I thought FIFA was the most corrupt sports organization.

WRONG

Good enough for you?

I miss those good old days.

I miss those good old days.

LOL :)

The only part about it that I miss are the immediate days after the SB victory. After about a week or so, we went right back to talking about the cloud that hung over the fanbase since 1/18.

I miss the optimism that everything would be ok though.

I miss the optimism that everything would be ok though.

Yeah, I hear you.

I think some of that optimism is alive and well though, at least regarding Brady's potential for a case in court. Unfortunately, we'll have to wait for that.

Possible.I only got it from the sports lawyer on SI

Michael McCann ‏@McCannSportsLaw Jun 24
Michael McCann retweeted Dweeb

Jeff Kessler likely left no doubt in opening statement that Tom Brady plans to sue unless suspension fully vacated.

Michael McCann added,

Dweeb @thesportsdweeb
@McCannSportsLaw Do you think Goodell asked Brady camp "are you going to sue if we don't reduce?" Would ?'s like that be asked?
"likely left no doubt..."
Sounds like he's guessing too.

...

Sorry, but haven't people figured this out. This game is rigged. Goodell is the casino and we are the idiots constantly feeding money into slot machines that are never going to pay out because they are designed that way. Goodell's decision will be crafted by League lawyers who's primary goal will be to make it harder for Brady to win in court just like Wells' marching order was to find the Patriots guilty no matter how he twists the evidence.

Every time I start to think maybe there's a way out of this, I read something like your post and think that I am being incredibly naive to think anything other than that the entire process was either corrupt from the beginning or has now become so corrupt that the relationship between the "truth" and the final outcome will be somewhere between tenuous and non-existent.

After Troy Vincent's comments today, I think this is heading to court. I am not buying some random twitter account again.

Yep. He tried to frame the discussion in advance and effectively told everyone the decision they will be sitting on for the next month was already made. And like everything else the league office does he did such a poor job of it that everyone can see right through it to the truth of what he was trying to do, which was to try and put Brady at odds with the rank and file, and it v won't work and will instead backfire on him. For Vincent to try and lecture the NFLPA on using money to defend their players after the grinder the NFL put them through on the concusiion suit is the height of hypocrisy and I have no doubt D. Smith took notice and will be firing back with a much more intelligent response than the babble Vincent put out there. Vincent also unwittingly provided the answer to the TedWells meme of " why would the NFL want to go after Tom Brady?" As he made clear just how sensitive the league office is to players suing the league and it was Brady's name on the lockout lawsuit that challenged their antitrust status, and there is no more sacred cow to the league than that status. So thanks Troy for being such a moron, and thanks for telling us what the decision was, now theres no reason at all to wait for it.

I don't know, NFL facing the risk of a lawsuit, I think the conversation is in another department above Vincent's, he is just an ass kisser lackey who got a job as a reward. If the NFL gets destroyed in the court I think his head will be one of the first to roll.

That's pretty much how I feel as well.

Brady has been framed, defamed, had his reputation shattered and it all has happened with no PROOF at all. How do they get away with this?

Of course, like most, I do not understand how a corrupt scheme perpetuated by disgruntled & jealous teams (Ravens, Colts, Jets) was even allowed to gain any traction at all given the lying, hit driven mediots and was allowed to get to where we are in the forst place. I just do not get it.

That said, like you PFS74 -- every time I see any kind of a possible way out, my hopes are dashed by reality of the situation.

At this point, Goodell cannot reverse his position and survive, so that led me to hope for justice from the courts. Then the realization that the courts rarely even think of hearing a case that was previously decided by an arbitrator (in spite of the fact he is judge, jury and executioner) and how difficult defamation of character is to prove. I just don't see how Brady & the PA (who relinquished the rights they are now trying to win back with this hail Mary) can turn the tide.

Can anybody give me some real hope? Apparently, being innocent, being in the right, being a great face of the NFL for 15 years doesn't count for anything at all.

The haters seem to have won and are laughing their asses off at us.........at least until they look at Bradys fingers and see those four beauties!!
