Troy Vincent makes me want to vomit

The more I read Vincent's comments, the more I believe that Goodell is going to uphold the 4 game suspension, maybe cut it a game to show he was trying to be fair.

These comments and the comments that he believes that Brady is the only QB deflating footballs clearly looks like the NFL is going on a PR offensive to a legal battle. They know they are going to give a ruling that will send Brady to Federal court and Vincent is trying spin Brady as a lone cheater in a league of choir boys and the NFLPA going to waste millions of dollars defending him when that money could go to retired players and helping players in other ways.

I never believed that Kraft and Goodell cut a deal to protect Brady. I would have to take Brady's sign off to get a deal like this done. I don't see Brady signing off on a deal unless it had a full exoneration.

I think it is clear the decision has been made (even though all the evidence hasn't been submitted yet) and the NFL is bracing for the PR battle of a Federal case.

That's exactly what is going on. Their decision is already made and they are trying to frame the narrative to paint Brady as the villain for defending himself. D. Smith really needs to debunk Vincent's narrative for the self serving garbage that it is. However it is really telling that the league office is so worried that they feel the need to go on the offensive. Imo everyone should feel good about this, it's going to court so Brady will get the injunction to play this entire season and will win in federal court. And if everything goes right the league office will be exposed and heads will roll in the end.

As I said on the other thread...

Reminder, once again, that Troy Vincent had the inside path on becoming the next executive director of the NFLPA until it came out that he illegally leaked payer contract details to his private company for personal gain ("by accident" according to Vincent) and then secretly met with Goodell and NFL owners while in his capacity as union president allegedly to conspire to give the owners a sweet deal on negotiations in order to gain support for furthering his personal power within the union. And I'm sure it's a total coincidence that after he lost the union election for the scandals, Goodell immediately gave him a cushy NFL executive role that allowed him to climb the ranks to become Goodell's right hand man in just a few years.

Yep, our guy Troy Vincent is a shining example of integrity.

When a guy jumps from being a high-level union executive to high-level corporate executive working for the ownership against the union, you have to question his integrity and commitment to fair play, both in business and in life in general.

You are probably correct but I don't think Goodell and most of the owners want this going to federal court. Assuming Brady is innocent, there is going to be a ton of NFL dirty laundry getting out in the open, which could turn into a PR mess. I personally hope this goes the distance because Goodell and his henchman need to go.

Wooohoooo, another cheater opened his yap!

Goodell has no choice but let it go to Federal Court. His other option is admitting he spent $5 million and months and months to produce a report that produced no evidence of cheating and instead of admitting that in the first place allowed Brady's name to be smeared for months. That would be worse than losing in court.

Goodell wants this to go to court. He just wants it to go to the right court with a judge who is weary of getting involved in an arbitration case under a collective bargaining agreement. Brady doesn't have a slam dunk case and if a judge throws out the case, Goodell wins in more way than one. This is his best case scenario in this case.

Wasn't it just last week that Schefter had a story about a backup QB and a long snapper who both admitted to deflating footballs?

Didn't the Jaguars complain to the league about Colts staff members possibly deflating balls? What did the integrity league do about that complaint?

BTW, guess how Troy Vincent's teams did against Tom Brady???

0-6!!!

(he left Philly prior to 2004, so he never played in a Super bowl either)

To be fair, the interview was posted elsewhere and the question was Does anyone else deflate balls and he said 'not to my knowledge'

Ironically, he's one of the ones who isn't doing it but the only one getting punished....

lots to criticize here, but notable that Vincent doesn't object to question of HIS decision to punish Brady: http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/13171906/nfl-vp-troy-vincent-criticizes-nflpa-spending-legal-action-challenging-roger-goodell-authority…

the NFLPA has argued that CBA specifies only commissioner can determine punishment; if Vincent decided Brady suspension that's a violation

he said that in his refusal to recuse himself as arbiter...so who's telling truth?

@shalisemyoung didn't Goodell already say that he, not Vincent determined Brady's punishment?

it could turn on that, if someone else was arbiter. Goodell's in charge, can use whatever "facts" he wants

@shalisemyoung Oh man. If it turns on something this inept...

can you say...Uncle Tom
Easy, Borg.

The term, "Boot-licking, corporate-lackey, two-faced, turncoat, slime ball, dolt" might be a bit more appropriate.

I was reading this piece earlier and was thinking this guy is such a scalawag of a hypocrite who has no self-identity or integrity!
"He's perfect."-Roger dodger.

Of all the shady, corrupt people working in the NFL office, Troy Vincent has to be the worst. Read the article below.. this is the person lecturing about integrity! This is the absolute height of hypocrisy. If there was any justice, Vincent should be sharing a cell next to Hernandez. Troy Vincent needs to be exposed. If someone could forward this to a media member like Jerry Thorton or Barstool sports, it would be great.

Vincent's wife also ran a freaking happy ending spa. This was not a one time incident at the Vincent's.

If those athletes are hurting so bad, how about eating into the nearly $50M worth of money that's going to the most useless commissioner in professional sports coupled with the payment for that sham of a report that's going to get tossed in federal court?

Ashley Fox used to write for the Philly Inquirer...a friendly microphone.

Why does no one have balls???????? Why didn't whoever was interviewing him ask him about them wasting $5 million on the Well's report???? Seriously how can he say this with a straight face, knowing how much money they wasted on a useless report???? So frustrated with idiots like him!
