Sally Jenkins nails it, again

No matter how much and how coherently Sally writes; so long as the video stays on top of her articles with the FALSE ACCUSATION that the balls were 2PSI under.....none of the casual readers are going to pick up on the true atrocity going on.

Which is why the petition is so crucial to get going, and going soon. The quicker that catches fire things such as this go away.

I read the replies, I'm convinced 90% of the haters haven't read anything but a headline. The unfortunate thing is Goodell bases his actions on public reaction, in this case public reaction is ignorant. If he was a real commissioner he would have stopped this nonsense in its tracks on day 1. He's either incompetent or crooked, or maybe both.

He's both.

Goodell is trying to establish his authority as a disciplinarian (not the guy who winked at the Rice incident) who wields immense power. To lift the suspension on the grounds that there is insufficient data would also require that he restore the draft picks and the fine and admit that he and the NFL (Vincent, Kensil, Pash, etc.) in issuing harsh discipline acted without appropriate protocol or investigation and without carefully considering the evidence.
He's been trying to do that since he came into office. Hows that working out for him?

Unfortunately, none of her pieces are getting national traction. She's written the same stuff a half dozen times.

Does anyone really think goodell would do this?

They won't get any national traction because it's not possible. While her pieces have had a similar theme, they have, I believe, varied somewhat in content. I hope she writes at least a half dozen more.

I don't understand this.
I was actually intending to agree with you. Neither the public (outside of NE) nor the vast majority of the media everywhere are inclined to be convinced of anything that places the Patriots in a favorable light. That's what I meant when I wrote that traction isn't possible.

Ah. Yeah, unfortunately you're probably right.

People like scandal.
Truth and defense is like anti-scandal

Can we trade for her?

How about Dan Shaughnessy and Ben Volin plus a photographer to be named later?
That's absurd. Kevin McHale would laugh at Danny Ainge if he ever suggested such a trade.

Again I disagree. Much as I hate the sports media Jenkins has an excellent reputation amongst them and that's why a-holes like Kornheiser are doing about face on this topic. It takes time to rebut an organization that owns the media the way the NFL does and it's really important that Florio, Jenkins etc continue to do battle against them. The truth often takes time to come out and it requires that people who have a voice use it. I'm grateful to the media who are doing just that and have confidence that this time the truth will come out. The reason it never came out for Spygate was because Kraft rolled over so there was no battle to follow. This time Brady is fighting so there is a battle and the truth will have an opportunity to come out?

How about if we throw in Ron Borges?

What kills me is Kraft's silence, his guys are clearly innocent!

uhh Kraft was pretty clear, he doesnt give a ****, hes not going to fight, facts don't matter, respect doesnt matter, his fans don't matter, and reputation don't matter.

All that matters is the league makes bank, and part of that bank goes into krafts coffers.

The words "Sally Jenkins" and nailed" bring to mind thoughts best not written

Well put Ivan.
Had Goodell simply fined the Pats org $ and picks and mandated the Vichy Bob fire the ball boys, the problem for the NYFL front office would have vanished with Bob's sudden, about face surrender.
But the vindictive power drunk fools in their hubris and unbridled outrage at TFB's 4th ring and utter destruction of their boys Manning & Luck as GOAT candidates went a bridge too far and picked on precisely the wrong guy. Without Brady there would be no life at all to the story, nobody would write analytical psi follow ups and the Sally Jenkins and (it pains me to say it) Florios would not be churning out the articles week after week.

The NYFL front office may die of a self-inflicted would.

She is so good, so logical and, apparently, so smart!
Not only does she destroy Goodell's "case" and make a strong argument for his incompetence, but she actually provides a way for him to weasel out of the mess he's created, but, unfortunately, Jenkins' thought processes are way beyond his IQ level and way, way beyond Troy Vincent's.
