Troy Vincent makes me want to vomit

Pure arrogance with a side order of self-righteousness. Any wonder how this mess came to be.

Vincent is a scumbag of epic proportions. Anyone who tries to stage a coupe attempt when the NFLPA leader is dying of cancer is just a worthless, sorry human being. Hence why he fits in so well in the League office with all the other worthless, sorry human beings.

Vomit? Hell no. I think this is wonderful. Vincent sounds to me like a guy who is very, very defensive. If you're confident in your position, now is the time to stay above the fray and keep your ****ing mouth shut.

My guess is that a few owners, including some who have no love for the Patriots, have been screaming bloody murder at Goodell for the mess this has become and that Goodell has let Vincent know that all is not well. So, now he's lashing out. The AEI report was probably the tipping point.

Think of the pile of **** on Goodell's plate right now:
He is stuck with a report, managed and reviewed by Vincent, that he knows won't stand up in Court.
But, the only way he can avoid going to Court is to exonerate Brady.
If he exonerates Brady the more rabid owners will want his head.
If he doesn't exonerate Brady, the ensuing debacle in court will lead to his losing his head anyway.

And, who was responsible for managing the entire process? Troy Vincent.

Multiple buildings within a short walk of 345 Park Avenue are full of CEO's who would fire the guy who got them into this mess.

One of the many lessons here is that if you're going to hire essentially "un-fireable" ex players as window dressing, make sure you don't give them anything important to do.

Because, eventually your board members (in this case, important owners) will ask, "who's the fool who hired that idiot in the first place?"

How dare Tom Brady defend himself!

This entire episode demonstrates just how much influence the NFL wields with the networks who televise football, everything that goes against the Patriots is run immediately and they shout it from the rooftops, and everything that exonerates them is buried. It's a disgrace. I have literally stopped watching anything related to the NFL. Of their goal is to get millions of Patriot fans to hate the NFL they a doing an excellent job.

That said I agree with PF74, the NFL must be worried about the way the ride is turning to send Vincent out to do a hatchet job on Brady.

BOYCOTT ALL NFL MERCHANDIZE.

Is there anyone left who still thinks the NFL might vacate Brady's suspension?

Face it folks, the NFL is getting away with libel/slander/defamation, all driven by a sting to frame Tom Brady. And nobody but us gives a f@#$.

Next season: #hategate. We shove the ball down their throats all the way to the Super Bowl.

I don't. EVERYTHING has gone against him since the afc champ game. The wells report was a joke, Goodell refused to let someone else hear the appeal and next Goodell won't vacate the suspension. The only way anything good happens is if Brady wins in court. Just like after spygate the only thing that will make this not sting so bad is another SB win and hopefully soon.

oh i see what they are doing....

they know they have nothing on the Pats and Brady. They know that when this goes to court they will loose and Goodell will be ousted.

So the grand scheme now is to get the media hating the Pats again saying that we are wasting money in the NFL.

Makes so much sense now.........

I love this part:

"Somebody has to protect the integrity of the game," Vincent said. "That's my responsibility, to protect and preserve the competitive fairness of professional football. That's why our game is so great, because we protect the integrity of the game."

That is so laughable it isn't even funny. The public confidence in the integrity of the game is probably at an all time low. Everyone thinks Goodell is a liar and makes rulings to satisfy the masses and not out of integrity.

I still don't get why the League front office's talking points always talks about protecting the integrity of the game or the shield. It so disingenuous and everyone laughs at the notion. No regime has done more to tarnish the legacy and credibility of the NFL than the Goodell regime.

If someone had just linked me to this report in plain text - no ESPN logo, not web address, no pictures, just plain text... I would have sworn I was reading an article from the Onion. Is Troy Vincent trolling or does he actually believe this Mack truck full of ******** that he's spewing?

The more I read Vincent's comments, the more I believe that Goodell is going to uphold the 4 game suspension, maybe cut it a game to show he was trying to be fair.

These comments and the comments that he believes that Brady is the only QB deflating footballs clearly looks like the NFL is going on a PR offensive to a legal battle. They know they are going to give a ruling that will send Brady to Federal court and Vincent is trying spin Brady as a lone cheater in a league of choir boys and the NFLPA going to waste millions of dollars defending him when that money could go to retired players and helping players in other ways.

I never believed that Kraft and Goodell cut a deal to protect Brady. I would have to take Brady's sign off to get a deal like this done. I don't see Brady signing off on a deal unless it had a full exoneration.

I think it is clear the decision has been made (even though all the evidence hasn't been submitted yet) and the NFL is bracing for the PR battle of a Federal case.

As I stated in another thread, I think this is clear sign that the NFL knows this is going to Federal court and they are starting to lay the ground work to win the PR battle by blaming Brady as the lone cheater in a league of choir boys and smearing the NFLPA for wasting millions defending him when that money could go to help players in need.

The thing is Troy Vincent is not a very well liked person. He is considered a Judas who tried to wrestle control of the NFLPA from Gene Upshaw while he was dying of cancer and then bolted the NFLPA to work for the enemy when he didn't get the control. I don't get why the NFL would have him doing PR spin. Granted they have no one in the League office who is likable or credible.

Reminder, once again, that Troy Vincent had the inside path on becoming the next executive director of the NFLPA until it came out that he illegally leaked payer contract details to his private company for personal gain ("by accident" according to Vincent) and then secretly met with Goodell and NFL owners while in his capacity as union president allegedly to conspire to give the owners a sweet deal on negotiations in order to gain support for furthering his personal power within the union. And I'm sure it's a total coincidence that after he lost the union election for the scandals, Goodell immediately gave him a cushy NFL executive role that allowed him to climb the ranks to become Goodell's right hand man in just a few years.

Yep, our guy Troy Vincent is a shining example of integrity.
