kind of a cryptic tweet

It was one guy who continuously tweeted about his opinion regarding the Patriots' innocence. Once the report came out, he immediately claimed the total opposite.

Like some here claimed the whole time--total fraud.

Huh?

I thought they didn't even file their final briefs until the end of this week?
As Sally Jenkins points out in today's Washington Post, Goodell shouldn't even wait to receive them before clearing Brady.

After Troy Vincent's comments today, I think this is heading to court. I am not buying some random twitter account again.

Probably - general rule I follow with Twitter is I assume zero credibility until proven otherwise. I've never heard of this account, so as far as I'm concerned it's nothing. Would love to be wrong, though.
That's why I never use Facetube or Twitbook!

As I said in a longer post in the thread dedicated to them, I think Vincent's comments suggest desperation and panic, not the confidence of someone who knows he has won anything. If he felt he'd won, he'd just shut the **** up and let Goodell do his talking.

Or he knows Goody will exonerate Brady and just used this opportunity to poke Brady in the eye while he still can do it. That twitter with Joe Namath picture and a quote, now this interview, this dude can't help himself.

Another thing to think is that NFL people should be avoiding any interview, twitter, etc...they should be in total STFU mode in order to protect themselves in case this goes to court. Any time this dude opens his mouth he defecates through it. Se maybe he's talking because he knows it's not going to court.

I don't think it goes to court, NFL have a lot to loose. If they are confident they are either out of their minds or they have an ace of spades in the sleeves and I can't see how. There's too much against them in this case, Kessler will have a field day and talk for 5 hours about all the inconsistencies in this case.

Yeah...not sure how I could have been any clearer. What is your specific question?

Are we still debating whether or not SoV was a total fraud? If so, that isn't much of an argument--nor was it ever.

Gotta go with Gump on this.

Stupid is as stupid does. It means nothing until we have something. I doubt this is about right or wrong, but more about saving one's own skin (and I mean that for the NFL front offices, not just Vincent, but Goodell, et al)

How do you feel about Myface?

I think vincent is just trying to drive a wedge between brady + the nflpa and separate him from the herd.
Sounds like a guy who doesn't want to go to court.

Or he knows they dont intend to reduce the punishment to zero and kessler probably in the appeal said its will go to court if not zero.

we're all just guessing, so your guess is as good as mine, but i'd be very surprised if Kessler, speaking on behalf of Brady, would have tipped his hand like that before the fact. The NFLPA might, however, have authorized Kessler to say something like that on its behalf.

Sure--it's possible that they were using it as a bargaining chip, and/or posturing. It's also possible that it's just widely assumed in league circles.

Possible.I only got it from the sports lawyer on SI

Michael McCann ‏@McCannSportsLaw Jun 24
Michael McCann retweeted Dweeb

Jeff Kessler likely left no doubt in opening statement that Tom Brady plans to sue unless suspension fully vacated.

Michael McCann added,

Dweeb @thesportsdweeb
@McCannSportsLaw Do you think Goodell asked Brady camp "are you going to sue if we don't reduce?" Would ?'s like that be asked?

They would never ask, partially because they would NEVER get an honest answer.
If TB had no intentions of suing, he would still say he did just to try and get the punishment reduced as far as possible. And if he did intend to sue, well same-same.

IncarceratedBob is reporting that exoneration sex is the best and that Brady's in for a night to remember.

And if you're insinuating that SoV didn't do a total 180 when the report came out, I'd point to these comments made in the first several days. Let me know if you're still confused after reading:

---"I was told it was a sting op and they had nothing on the Pats. Had no idea Brady was dirty in the whole thing."

---"Those text exchanges are the most damning evidence against Brady. Shows he lied in his presser and to investigators."

---"Tom Brady lied at that presser. I hate the fact that Mark Brunell was right, but he was."

---"100 seconds, and that is plenty of time" (in reference to the bathroom stop).

---"I fell into the trap of listening to a "source" as if it was not just speculation. Won't happen again."

---"I know a bad hand when I see one. Already rode it too far. Brady knew something."

---"We assumed a lot and were wrong because of it."

---"They are not innocent. They played a role in all of this" (in reference to the ballboys).

---""Yeah, he ducked into the bathroom to check. Then lied and said he didn't make any stops on the way to the field."

---"He (McNally) did it in the officials' locker room normally. Too many people were in there before the AFCCG."

---"They found out how it was done at the AFCCG. If they investigated Nov. game, I am sure they would find out how."

---"They are in trouble for deflating balls after they were approved."

---"Brady knew they were being altered."

---"Tom knows something but to punish him for not turning in his phone is insane."

---"I think he knows something" (in reference to Brady).

---"We were never on the 'wagon.' " (in reference to their stance and 100 tweets per day throughout)

---"(McNally) takes the balls without permission, ducks into a bathroom with said balls, has spoken about deflating etc"

Yea he really lost it and did a crazy 180. The only single thing which looked bad is Dorito Dink called himself the deflator in a text from May 2014 during an off season weight loss competition.

SOV rode the horse too hard and then bailed too early. I think he was basing a business based on a bet he was going to be shown right about this.

Agreed.

In hindsight, it was still likely a good business decision--but I couldn't take him seriously when he'd openly state in his comments the words "in my opinion." I couldn't figure out why everyone was taking his word as gospel, other than the fact that we all wanted him to be correct.

I have said in other threads that Vincent's comments look like first shots in the war of public opinion. He is already saying Brady is the sole cheater in a league full of choir boys who follow the rules and the NFLPA don't care about their players because they are throwing tons of the players' money away to defend Brady.

Sorry, but haven't people figured this out. This game is rigged. Goodell is the casino and we are the idiots constantly feeding money into slot machines that are never going to pay out because they are designed that way. Goodell's decision will be crafted by League lawyers who's primary goal will be to make it harder for Brady to win in court just like Wells' marching order was to find the Patriots guilty no matter how he twists the evidence.

A little stressed out Sup?

I stopped listening to anything from SOV once the Wells Report came out and had no idea about their future remarks. Defending them because they hasn't been wrong to date during the Wells Investigation was just one of the many mistakes I made in evaluating what was going on.

I thought it was an idiotic joke when I woke and read it the day after the Super Bowl

WRONG

I thought it would be wrapped up the first week and no big deal.

WRONG

I thought bringing in an "Independent investigator would work in the Patriots favor.

WRONG

I thought Ted Wells would value the reputation of his firm as well as his own more than his deal with the league.

WRONG

I thought science and logic would prevail.

WRONG

I thought Kraft would stand up for his team.

WRONG

I thought the frame job by Kensil and company would be exposed.

WRONG

I thought the worst case scenario was a small fine.

WRONG

I thought FIFA was the most corrupt sports organization.

WRONG

Good enough for you?
