I'd be OK with Brady accepting a fine for not cooperating a la Favre, but there's no way this would happen.

I'm not even sure how it can happen since fines against players can't exceed $250K.

And for those very reasons, the NFLPA would never want him to accept a deal like that

Maybe goodell will fine him 8x

If Goodell was looking for a way out while still saving face, all he had to do was appoint an independent arbiter to hear the appeal.

Everyone (pro and con, as well as most of the media) seems to be very cynical on Goodell.....Almost everyone believes he won't change his mind unless the risk of losing in court is worse.

But, how does Roger see himself? Maybe he does seem himself as fair....I guess we'll find out.

Really if you think about it, if Roger is worried about HIS legacy, he should try to resolve this the way and independent arbiter would have. That means no deal for either side.

No. Brady accepts anything at this point then he may as well just come out and say he knew.

Everybody feels they're right and they justify their own behavior to themselves.

It's become pretty clear that the ratpack running the NFL have a few preconceived biases about the patriots.

The dean wormer comparisons couldn't be more apt

At this point I have no clue what's going to happen. I think that Brady wants complete exoneration on the subject of his having anything to do with the deflating of footballs. He may accept a fine for being uncooperative but I don't think he would accept anything but a small fine. I think it all hinges on how much or how little Goodell wants this settled in a court of law.

If he was fined for not cooperating but the league released a statement that after further review it could find no proof of wrongdoing by Tom I think Brady would have to at least consider it.

But the league will never do that because they've backed themselves into a corner. Or more precisely, imo, a weak Goodell was pushed into a corner by underlings *cough* Kensil *cough*.

Read the same thing, Florio has a slow news day so he is throwing stuff against the wall to see if anything sticks..

Makes no sense on many levels, Brady essentially playing the game for nothing to avoid a suspension?? There is one and only one resolution to this situation, complete exoneration and removal of all penalties.. there is no harm, there is no foul.

Florio is trying to find and end game, and he is right about one thing: this is not going to end well.

The only way for Goody to get out of this with any grace is to shift the narrative that Jaz and McNally acted alone.

"I have concluded that Mr. Brady's standard practices represent the NFL's mission of uphold the integrity of the game and the spirit of fair competition. I believe that members of the Patriots' game-day staff were overzealous in their efforts to ensure that game day balls where to Mr. Brady's preference. With that said, I have exonerated Mr. Brady from all previously set-forth punishment. However, the sanctions against the team stand.".

What stinks is that the probability of that happening is 1%

Even worse is that two humans are damaged for life because of those a-holes. Pay them a $1m each to make their lives a little easier.

That SI article about Bradys HOF status not being in jeopardy is also a way to try and get his side to play ball. No doubt in my mind. Too convienent.

SI isn't connected to the NFL. Time owns SI

But that is based on the assumption that they "acted" and discounts the climate issues.. they may not have done anything at all to the footballs..

knew WHAT?

That 2 of 11 footballs were 0.3 psi low, and 3 of 11 footballs were 0.3 psi high, with an error in measurement of +/- 0.4?

This is truly the silly season with questions like that.
