Volin's Sunday Football Column

Benz is on record that he literally despises Patriot fans.

Was listening to Dale and Holley the other day and they played his meltdown about how Pats fans are so defensive about the team and call him anti-Pats and that it's just his opinion and him having a different opinion doesn't make him anti-Pats, blah blah just whining like a ***** about it. Classic "The lady doth protest too much, me thinks"

I mean even his co-host Merloni called him out on how defensive he is when he gets called anti-Pats.

But then I think it was Holley made a great point and said "I'm sure Steelers fans didn't call radio shows in Pittsburgh and defend Roethslisburger or Tomlin"

Ian, I realize that every media member who criticizes the Patriots isn't necessarily the enemy. Sometimes (not often!) that criticism is warranted. But, in my opinion, Vollin has evolved from someone who liked to be edgy in pushing our buttons to an outright troll. I believe he, like Felger, Shaughnessy, Borges, Benz, et al is genuinely contemptuous of Patriots fans. I read today's column and its intent was crystal clear.
The difference is, he really is as dumb as a rock. You only have to watch him for 30 seconds to get that. The only mystery is way he's managed to have a career in an area that, generally speaking, requires some literacy.

Yeah, it's a real mystery

How will some guy like that ever get attention

Loool no wonder all you guys are so mesmerized by this dude

@Dante_Carnevale pretty sure I delivered exactly what I tweeted, but whatever. Attack the messenger like a typical Pats fan

Not a Volin fan, but in all fairness, he did retract and apologize for the Kraft-AEI tweet.

Did he have any choice? Even people dumb enough to take his work seriously know what this is, and it isn't a football team.

I remember when I was a kid I'd go fishin' down at the local crick and there'd be these nuisance fish we called crappies -- they were all over and you'd try to catch anything but them

It was so bad you could just drop a hook in there with no bait and get a bite in 10 secs

So weak to act like Patriot fans are the only fans that defend their team. Every fanbase in all of sports has fans that defend their team.

I couldn't give 2 ****s what other fans do -- pats are awesome

This is why I miss johnny most
Some of you youngsters probably never heard of that guy

Actually, you're guilty of the same mistake as Volin. The Kraft Foundation of Arizona has nothing to do with the Kraft Foods.

I guess you didn't get the sarcasm on that one?

As I've maintained here for a long, long time it's just like the Commissioner. That guy is not intellectually up for the job. He's simply not cognitively capable. He's The Dope.

I read all of the Sunday columns and I usually enjoy his as well because there tends to be a few little bits of information that are interesting.

I've gone back and forth with him a few times over email and he's been a great guy. But I was kind of surprised to see this bit this morning:

I think the opinions have more to do with the fact the home fans don't believe Brady did enough (or anything) to deserve the suspension, and that the science isn't definitive enough to prove one way or the other that there was any wrongdoing. So I don't think today's attempt to give fans "a reality check" is going to accomplish anything.

Thanks, but I do not read Volin. I think the Globe might want to consider hiring a person who does not openly hate the Patriots for the patriots beat. (Oddly, that would actually be novel and stand out. No, I'm not being facetious there. I'm being literal.)

I know he despises me. He's a punk, a coward, a liar and a troll.

It's just a suggestion, Joker, but if you want Ben Volin to like you, maybe you could try a compliment like, "Ben, that color you're wearing makes me almost forget that you are a lying, cowardly, trolling punk." I hear he likes chocolate.

don't read his columns, but from what i have seen from his twitter feed (on the right side of this page), he takes jabs at every chance he can get at the pats. as i have seen here, ben trollin, is a more suitable name for him.

What a shock: @comcastover-billed me by almost double, and is giving me the run-around as I try to fix it. Pathetic customer service

Ben, if you are reading this, and I know you are, you too can do the search on who the Wells investigation initially used to do the science of deflategate before Exponent and see why they made no mention of these other sources in the final report. Do you really think that the attachment 1, the Exponent report was submitted May 6, the same day as the Wells report?

You can also cover the question of why the NFL provided false psi info in the Gardi letter and understand that any reasonable person seeing 10.1 being falsly given would know this would substantially impact the Patriots ability to focus on prepping for the game. Only the NFL has the correct info and only the NFL gave false data. manipulating the results of the Super Bowl through the release of fraudulent data is a big story.

You are not going to build a career being a mini Felger but you might try actual journalism and investigation for a change.

@eom
Just like he gives the run-around to people expecting to see a well thought out Sunday column.

i wish people werent so hard on him.....he is getting better
