OH Boy - NFL Looking for New Investigator

When this goes to federal court it will be a shipwreck for Goodell.

The four game suspension will be crucified based on the lack of cooperation. Basically he has no evidence of Brady being aware of anything thanks to ****head Wells "more probable than not" spoof. So if the 4 games is based on non cooperation for the phone, the lawyers will ask why Favre was only fined 50000 dollars?

But Brady offered nothing new at the appeal, he still said he didn't do it.

Not Lois Lerner's this weekend?
According to Camus they were "lower graded" IRS employees so that means that they meet the minimum standard for NFL employment. :)

Maybe this will be the guy/girl who finds out who leaked the erroneous information to Kravitz/Mort.. not that that is important at all..

Geez Wells did not mention that erroneous information leaked, but took the time to massage Anderson's testicles... how can that be??

Whoever they use, I'd insist any results are peer-reviewed by pre-agreed upon investigators before the findings and results even see the light of day as true. Imagine if the Wells Report had went through the same procedure. It would be laughable.

This is good news for NE!

This can only mean Goodell is setting up the Wells Report as the fall guy. His twisted genius knows no bounds. Not Wells as the fall guy, nor the report in whole, nor the bogus out-of-context text messages. Specifically, the science section by Exponent. Goodell has found a way out that solves many of the problems we've discussed here. He can save face, not tarnish Wells esq., not look like he wasted 5M on crap, plausibly reduce TB to 1 or 2 g, reduce his exposure on defamation, show good faith keeping it out of court, still get to punish him for non-coop, or a myriad of combinations with these and others resulting from this move. This is assuming of course the report comes bag inconclusive, which it should. Cuz it is. Which is also exactly what Goodell wants. No conclusive evidence the balls were deflated. He surely doesn't want a 'no evidence of any deflation ' result. I'm sure he'll word the directive to any new investigator to get it.

Hmmm, now that I read all that, maybe it isn't so much good news for NE. But c'mon it can't be worse right. So I'll go with its more probable than not good news for NE.

The job description reminds me of another question/concern. Why do NFL players and personnel seem to use the same phone for work and personal communications? Given that the work phones are essentially public access, given how leaky the NFL administration is, why would these organizations choose such a practice?

Wouldn't SOMEONE in Brady's agent's office said to him, "Tom, unless you want your text and email conversations with Giselle to show up in a tabloid, have a different phone for personal communications."
My understanding was that Brady's was a personal phone which is why he didn't turn it over.

I tend to agree, but might not go so far. For this to come out now, it indicates to me that hiring an "independent" investigator did not work out. However, I think this new appointee will be too late for deflategate.

Mike Cerullo - Bounty Gate snitch

Jeremy Shockey - Accused NFL snitch.

The Todd Gurley snitch Bryan Allen.

Jonathan Martin

Chris Mad Dog Russo - he doesn't need to know what he is investigating ... reports will be quick and cheap.

"Mike Felger - no explanation needed - if being a douchebag is a qualification - there's no bigger than Felger."... Boregas gives him a good run for the money

Yes, and that's my point. If this becomes an actual legal proceeding, because he uses his personal phone for business transactions, it becomes a legitimate target. If he kept it separate, it wouldn't be.

I'm still amazed that the agents for the players, and by extension the staff and coaches, haven't made the permanent deletion of all messages an SOP. Weekly, monthly, whatever. Why keep it around?

Three thoughts.

No, they're not gong to "re-investigate" Deflategate. It will probably take them six months to fill the job.

After getting their shares of the $5 million bill for Wells, some owners probably suggested that the NFL put someone on the payroll to do this stuff in the future for a fraction of the overhead-laden costs billed by Paul Weiss.

I think the sales of "burn phones" to NFL players, coaches and executives are gonna soar.

It's quite possible that the NFL* front office types, considering what they may have had in mind for a while regarding the Pats, already had burn phones for that very reason.

Who knows? But if true, just another reason why the NFL wouldn't want to go to court where various folks could all be asked under oath whether any of them had such a phone. then they have to roll the dice. Lie and hope you get away with it or lie and get caught and be in real trouble, not just NFL pretend trouble.

Please don't say things like that unless they're true, that got me really excited for all the pee-bombs I hope get thrown at him. :D
Google jury nullification. :) (" :) " added for legal reasons :) )

This guy would fit

Isn't he already acting NFL president?

I was wondering how many times Wells stuttered during that meeting with Brady?
It's More Probable Than Not as many times as Pats put up numbers vs Colts in 2nd half.
