Ross, let's hope we're not relying on Bequette looking good, if we are, then we're in deep trouble lol

Bequette: doesn't know the offense, is no longer cheap, and is unproven as a receiver or blocker.

Still has the Ken Walter Polaroids, though, so maybe he's back.

Ya never know Ashley... I'll hold out hope that he finds his groove lol. Even if he's just decent, he could be as good as Hooman while also serving as depth at DE too.

Nah, he really won't be. Hooman plays about to his ceiling, but that ceiling is a guy who can make a few plays when called on and usually won't hurt you. Remember, Gronk has been injured a lot, so have other TEs we hoped for and Hooman has made some key third down plays.

The difference between a player with potential, who you hope is ready in an emergency and one with a low ceiling who plays to his ability when called on. Bequette is a total gamble.

Hooman highlights...

Not much, but he makes catches and does his job, including pretending to be an OL.

Well said. Hooman is probably worth keeping, but maybe Bequette can earn a spot by virtue of being a 4th TE plus reserve DE.. Does he do ST at all?

I've always been a Bequette fan. When I played NCAA football "whatever year" on my ship with the cadets a few years ago. In what was probably the most random.choice in my.life, I always played Arkansas. Because this one cadet didn't know you could fake snap AND the defense got a boost if you jumped the snap count, you got a bonus Bequette was my unstoppable DE. Granted, he was only rated 74 or something, and eventually the mid figured out how to fake snap, but JB will always have a soft spot in my heart because of this.

I've been at a Margeritas festival all day. Sorry.

Hooman does what is asked of him, as a #3 TE, as a blocking TE and a as backup to Gronk. he also can be an h-back and Brady protector. Belichick is comfortable with him in all of these roles. Barring a serious, injury, the rest are fighting for the Practice Squad, or perhaps for the utility 52nd or 53rd roster spot.

Could be, I suppose, but they'd have to pay him more.

Don't really see how he plays at all at either position, so it's a mystery to me. He can't be practice squad forever

Ditto. He would be the low man on the totem pole at both positions and would probably only see playing time if their was an injury. It sound like another season of PS to me.
