So then players will just throw the voluntary card out when they don't want to do something

fantastic

Brady is a bottom five QB

hey you guys Pats shouldn't be punished because user Wildo7 on Patsfans said something stupid in a gameday thread 8 months ago

seems legit

Actually what I was referring to was you trying to claim the high ground on "logic" when you are in truth a moron. Anyone who thinks Brady is a bad QB forfeits all claims to logical thinking.

See you later troll.

Show us where the Patriots did something wrong?

They punished a player for not showing up for the first day of a voluntary workout by excluding him for a period of time that goes way beyond what anyone could argue was logistically necessary.

Fines and suspensions are punishments, Butler received neither.

I'll bet you have a trophy room filled with participation ribbons

I think you hate Brady because his forehead isn't big enough for your, ahem, "tastes."

the burns are sick and extra frothy, but I doubt many people will buy that

Fines and suspensions are punishments, Butler received neither.

when the language of the CBA specifically says:

or that a player's failure to participate in a workout program or classroom instruction will result in the player's failure to make the Club or result in any other adverse consequences affecting his working conditions

So to recap, Butler "failed to participate in a workout program" and was rewarded with "adverse consequences affecting his working conditions" by being refused the opportunity to actually go to work for an extended period of time.

But yeah, they clearly meant to narrow this down to fines and suspensions because reasons

Also being cut on the first day of camp when you let it be known you wouldn't be attending is a verbatim violation of the rule, yet NFLPA has yet to file a complaint against the Titans for cutting Shonn Greene, who was scheduled to make $3.2m this year and will most certainly be making much less if he signs with a team.

has it occurred to you that the Shonne Greene case might have been more difficult for them to prove considering you just conceded the team's defense and a much more plausible explanation for why he was cut

don't answer that

He was cut after not showing up to voluntary workouts. If he was cut because of money they would have done it before voluntary workouts. Much easier to prove that Greene's failure to participate in a workout program was the result in his failure to make the Club than it is that Belichick holding Butler out of 5-6 field sessions that even the player said did not result in any adverse consequences affecting his working conditions

When asked what he’s been working on while not on the practice field the past few weeks.

“Film room, weights, same thing that football requires,” Butler said. “I got out here today, don’t feel like I missed a step, so feel pretty confident.”

Answer that, troll.

Wow, butler didn't make the team?

Butler claims there were no adverse consequences. He studied and worked out and was ready to go when they called him onto the field.

So why did BB exclude him from 6 sessions?

My take on this is that BB made an example out of Butler for two reasons, first so the whole time is on notice that no one is late for any thing that is scheduled. Secondly i believe BB is pointing out to Butler not only, not to be late but that his greatest present weakness is film study and classroom work. The extra film study done during OTAs will help Butler more than on field play where he is presently most competent.

Felt Butler needed more time in the film room. If Titans get to use the excuse that they cut Greene to free cap space, Belichick can use the excuse that he felt Butler's time would be best spent watching extra film those 5-6 practices. Which Malcolm himself has said missing those on-field sessions didn't cause any adverse consequences that affected his working conditions.

You sure seem to put a lot of stock in the quotes of Someone who has no meaningful choice in what he can say right now, I wonder why

Maybe Bellichick could argue that it was a reward for winning the Superbowl ! Because that's what this is about right, coming up with dumb excuses for BB because something something Titans did it. I mean who cares if Butler actually got screwed over this is your favorite team we're talking about!

Wildo7, you should take a break from this arguing and go get a new keyboard, one that won't continue to make it look like you have an educational deficit. There are letters and punctuation marks missing from many of your words and sentences, and this serves as a distraction from the logical positions you take here.

Go ahead and take the time. We'll happily wait for your return, and probably find something to do around here in your absence.

I obviously don't know you, random Dunning-Krueger candidate, but I feel it in mah gut that you can do better
