“I think that they deliberately delayed the process of getting the real numbers out because having the false numbers out there kept the Patriots feeling like they were on the ropes when the reality was that they were on ropes that weren’t even there,” Florio said. “We didn’t get the truth until May. That is the one fact that bothers me more than anything in this entire ordeal, and that’s the one fact that causes me to believe that someone was out to get the Patriots. The false information was put out there, or deliberately not corrected.”
little curious , what is florio's play here? he never this pro pats.

Mortenson started this reporting false PSI data which the NFL failed to correct publicly til May! Can you say lawsuit?

They're all whores ........ blood sucking leeches.
He smells the stink, but how he handles it is what makes him a garbage reporter. Instead of speculating and then hoping the chips fall his way so he can crow he should be actually investigating what happened.

Just got on WEEI and brought up the letter from Gardi, SVP from the NFL containing lies of 10.1PSI and that the Colts balls were all 12.5 and above. They were trying to minimize it because hey the Patriots won but eventually they did get the significance of the NFL lying to the Patriots in the letter. Keep hammering this http://wellsreportcontext.com/nfl-letter-to-patriots/

Ironically, Felger and Mazz talked about the letter and the Mort report too, but of course their spin was it was an honest mistake by the NFL because the investigation was so bungled before Wells took over that no one in the League office actually knew the correct numbers and thought the PSI dropped far more.

They did reluctantly agree that the League may have erred by never publicly correcting the "error" about the PSI levels.

That's what I get for changing from WEEI during commercials. I get subjected to Felger's blatant trolling of Pats fans.

You know he isn't actually a reporter, right?

He's positioned himself as one with his TV appearances.
John Thomase positions himself as one too. :)

But more seriously, unless I'm mistaken, Florio has no journalism training. Isn't he a lawyer by trade? He runs an online gossip column, but I'm not sure that makes him a reporter.

On the other hand, I do think he might see this as a huge opportunity, so maybe he is a a reporter now, or trying to turn into one.

Yeah, he's a lawyer, but he's got TV time now:

Well that error was the difference between the only rational explanation being that the Patriots cheated vs. the strong possibility that science could explain it so its a pretty big fu.cking deal. If the balls were at 10.1 then the footballs were manipulated, no debate about it. As it turned out, they were at 11.5 which science can rationally explain.

The main difference being Florio actually has sources. There's a reason why news re: Rosenhaus clients tends to break through him.

Florio has done a good job, he is actually starting to connect the dots. However not sure that people who depend on the NFL for content will get too agressive with this story. Perhaps a real reporter working for a news source this isn't dependent on the NFL can really write this story. Someone like Sally Jenkins for example.

I would rule out anyone from, Fox, CBS, NBC, or ESPN/ABC, going 'too far' in provoking the NFL front office.

Florio sees the bigger story here: NFL incompetence.

And he understands more and more people have become disillusioned with how the NFL conducts their business highlighted by the numerous mishandled scandals the past 2 years. A big backlash against the NFL will happen sooner or later and he's pushing it.

It's really too bad the majority of NFL fans hatred towards anything Pats related is blinding them.

I could care less, if he's got a boner to go after the NFL league office on their conspiracy to defraud Brady of his salary then he has my total support, I'll subscribe to the site simply to support him. What is being done to Tom Brady is criminal, period, there is no other description for it. The league office has absolutely no proof that any NFL game ball was ever tampered with by the Patriots, let alone in the AFCCG, and not only do they know they have no proof but they deliberately lied about the game balls they had in their possession and allowed their lie to baste out there for months to provide them with an appearance of guilt by Brady and the Patriots necessary to convict them in the court of public opinion. This is corruption by the NFL league office on the same kind of scale that FIFA has been engaging in for decades and it should not be allowed to stand. Everyone in the NFL league office as well as everyone involved in the Wells Investigation who participated in the conspiracy to frame Brady and the Patriots should be stripped of their jobs and perp walked into court to face charges of fraud and conspiracy for their efforts to defraud Brady of millions of dollars. Goodell, Kensil, Vincent et al should be fired and Ted Wells disbarred for their roles in the conspiracy.

The NFL has gone way over the line in their abuses of power, their efforts have real world consequences and they should be held accountable for criminal activity in their scheme to defraud Brady of almost two million dollars.

As people can tell I'm really pissed off by this, but I'm no lawyer and would love to hear what those with legal background feel about approaching this from the angle of a conspiracy to defraud Brady of two million dollars in salary he is legally entitled to?

The biggest reason the NFL has been able to get away with their abuses has been their sway over the TV networks who broadcast their product, as well as their own propaganda channel. Florio is showing balls by challenging the league on his site which is now owned by NBC, and it will be interesting to see if they follow suit and shut him down as well. What is happening to Brady is truly Orwellian and something really needs to be done to shine the light on their criminal activities and conspiracy to defraud Brady.

When Zolak deferred to him weeks ago. Zo's metamorphosis was completed today when he said he believed Brady was knowingly involved in the football deflation. He's officially become Bertrand's *****. How the valiant have fallen.
Dos this mean he no longer believes in Unicorns and Show Ponies?

1000% agreement. Gresh and Zo were way too homerish for the suits that run the Sports Hob.

Balloon Boy Bertrand is a Felger disciple. So isn't Jones. Thats the formula for their operation.

Meanwhile....Back at the Hall of Justice...

WEEI is playing it right down the middle and their ratings have suffered.
Not even sure where to post this, but here's goes. I was at the beach today in RI and I listened to MFB (Mother F######## B####) for a while, then Porky and Zolak. Horrid radio. At noon I figured I'd flip over to the PFW podcast. Immediately, Paul Perillo is arguing with Fred Kirsch. Perillo is PISSED, maintaining Brady is guilty of something, defending Mort and the league about the original PSI info, claiming they didn't know any better and on and on. I finally said eff this and put music on and drank 2 beers in about 15 minutes. God, there is no escape from this crap...

On what basis can he defend Mort and the league? Is he trying to be a complete ***hat?

Yeah, I think Florio's playing the long game here, everyone's been sh.tting on the Pats and Brady but IF (and it's a big if) Brady takes the NFL to court the tides may turn in that some of this NFL incompetence (and outright lying in some cases) is exposed the 'Goodell needs to go' drumbeat will be louder than ever. And Florio will be there as the first one to have exposed this story for what it really is.

In a way he's hoping for exactly what we are: a date in front of a federal judge, the NFL being exposed, Brady and the Pats being exonerated. However he doesn't care about the Pats angle, he sees an already-vulnerable Goodell potentially hanging himself on this one, and that'd be the story of the year, perhaps the decade if evidence of a real conspiracy is found (one can only hope...)
