Kraft, NFL Hall of Famers A Big Hit in Israel

I'm an emphatic atheist. But when a religious person is as ecumenical as Robert Kraft is, I tend to admire their faith.

What I'm referring to is the enthusiasm the Jew Kraft shows for Christians' faith, which I'm reminded of by the Curtis Martin re-baptism part of this story. (It also arose in the context of Tim Tebow.)

To give credit where credit is due, Kraft has been a big supporter of the Israeli Football League as a way to bring American football to Israel...

Friends of ours' son, who played D-1 football was recruited to go and play there and may take them up on it..

Being Jewish myself (although more atheist in reality), Kraft's surrender statement on Deflategate hit a chord with me. What he was saying is essentially that the majority is always right, and it's not our duty to protect and defend the oppressed, even if justice is on their side. Yes, I realize this is a game and Tom Brady is a multi-millionaire, but that doesn't change Kraft's principles. His statement was so cowardly that, to me, this guy should not be considered a hero by anyone.

Let's listen to what the other 31 fanbases want... oh, they want blood! Okay then, I'll feed Tom to the dogs. After all, I want to keep the power structure in tact and not put in jeopardy my standing in the world of billionaires.

As a minority with Jewish roots, a group who have been persecuted for centuries, it is appalling that Kraft would take such a cowardly, self-serving stance and uphold the will of the irrational, unjust collective majority over the rights of the individual.

Glad he was having a great time while refusing to appear for Tom Brady or even take his phone call.
Loyalty is one of the most important character traits, as is honesty.
Kraft has that rare combination of lacking loyalty but trying to lie to make it seem as if he does.

Did he refused to appear or even take a phone call from TB? I missed that if he did do those things.

Yes, yes he did.
Brady's team asked him to appear as a character witness. He said he couldn't because of this trip (altouhgh he landed at 2 I'm told, and of course, since Brady is like a son to him, could have flown out a few hours earlier). They then asked him to testify by phone, and he said he couldn't do that either and sent a letter.
Loser.

I've never felt so much ire against one single man as I've had with Kraft.... I know he probably doesn't deserve it, but it feels like such a deep, personal betrayal....Lord know how Brady feels about it

I expected you to post the truth because you have been here so long and your previous posts are reliable in my opinion. I did miss reading about this, there is so much to read daily about the entire issue plus reading others positions on this forum. For me this message is very disappointing in two ways. One it might be saying Kraft knows more than has been expressed about Brady's involvement since Bob's settlement with the owners and Goodell and the other that he has walked away from the entire issue including Brady because of his relationship with the other 31 owners and Goodell vs his club's fans. Either way I have less disrespect for Kraft and for me that is painful having been an original STH on opening day in 1960. I have always said that the QB of all 32 teams knows what is happening to and with the footballs. I have always said that nothing happens to the footballs unless the QB allows it to happen. I thought that Brady's failure to attend the Obama's congrats meeting smelled, it was wrong and after the charges might imply involvement.
in something wrong during his original press meeting that was a disaster and told me Brady needed a pres agent. Whatever the results, I am still a Pats fan, that won't buy good that supports the team, I expect to spend zero dollars on the Pats. As of today I will still watch every game on TV.

Lets Go Pats.

Just stop. Science proves Brady did nothing, do not use Kraft's lack of balls, loyalty and class to make comments like this.

What? Are you kidding me? So Brady is involved in a scheme to deflate footballs that doesn't deflate footballs because he didn't go to the White House.
are you Bob George?

Wow. You should just start commenting about something that you understand

Said it before, will say it again:

Sending my regards to TB and a letter of recommendation while I'm in Isreal because you know Tom is like a son and I have his back 100% but I can't be there to support him. <wink wink> Goodell.

As a Jew like Ice Ice Brady, I completely agree with his sentiments regarding Kraft. Since the death of his wife, he has lost his moral compass and has become the mere caricature of a rich man who has forgotten where he came from. There is an expression which denotes the highest praise a person's character can receive, that he or she is a mensch. Money can not buy this praise. Mrs Kraft certainly was one but her husband certainly isn't as he proves it daily. Abandoning, Brady in his time of need so as not to upset goodell is just another example of what he has become.

Fascinating stuff really.

Knowing what we know about Kraft, this could be part of his plan to create new Pats fans to replace the ones he'll lose when Brady goes.

Don't worry f27. Some here are thinking that Kraft has some master plan that's behind all of his decisions. If the Pats win the SB with Brady and Belichick, they'll be sure and give some of the credit to Kraft.

Maybe hell move the team to Israel?

Id surmise Gillettee is out of the picture over there.

So what was happening with the footballs? What science proves that our footballs were ever deflated (purposefully and unnaturally) in the first place? The answer is nothing. "The deflator" text (from the guys who call each other Doritos Dinks), a 90 second trip to the bathroom, and a "mysterious" phone call. All of which amount to flimsy circumstantial evidence at best.

Nothing proves our balls were deflated. It was an outrageously false leak given to Mortensen and never retracted despite the wild inaccuracies. Have you taken any of that into consideration?

I no longer care about Bob K. and what he does. He's an old man and will be gone sooner rather than later.
I'm curious if he'll enjoy and revel in his teams value, worth and legacy as "One of the 32" once he's in his dirt nap.
