I d

I doubt it will even be dropped even 1 game . The way nfl leaked info today means its saying it didnt hear anything new so I expect the 4 game suspension be upheld.

the sticking point is likely brady still not wanting to turn over his phone.

I wish the Wells report had come out back in February because we'd be in court by now. It's not like the NFL had to take until May to figure out what they were going to say, they knew back in January.

Thought McCann was a legal analyst for Sports Illustrated?
he is, but he also works for bspn. and i may be wrong, but in the begining of this whole twisted journey he made some comments that i thought were shot down concerning the patriots and bradys ability to seek relief in court. But the more i think about it, it was krafts ability to sue the nfl, which obviously we'll never find out.

Schefter expects this to go to court, and equates it to being in the second quarter of a four quarter game.

Not surprising, since nothing to date suggests that (A) Brady will willingly and ungrudgingly sit out games or that (B) Goodell will come to his senses.

So driving home today I was listening to 980AM (DC market), the Cooley and Czaban show. Czaban thinks it's a botched sting operation. Brings up Brady's "know the rule book" comment and the Kensil-Jets connection. Also brought some other underling's name, forgot who, but another former Jet employee part of the "sting".

I want more and more media calling out the farce that is this investigation.

EDIT:
Oh and the PR damage is done. Was talking to coworker today who doesn't care enough to read the stupid wells report and only going by headlines, so they think something happened. But when I bring up the fact that the texts were from May and October and not near game day, and how the PSI ranges are within the IGL and at worst tenths of a PSI below, it was totally new information to them.

The letter the NFL sent Jan 19 said the patriots ball was 10.1PSI. That would have been the PSI of the balls at the ravens game which was much colder.

Matt Light http://www.bostonherald.com/sports/...t_predicts_roger_goodell_will_lose_power_over

"There are rules that (Goodell) wrote, he and his team wrote, to deal with any tampering of the footballs," Light said. "He chose to ignore them completely and started a witch-hunt that has now resulted in Deflategate. He obviously can't follow his own rules. He can't be consistent with the manner in which he disciplines people. I think the power will be taken from him by the owners, and the rest of the league, and the NFLPA because it's in the best interest of everybody at this point."

uh oh, looks like the NFL was not as impressed with Brady's testimony yesterday. one league source said he was not credible.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...action-to-tom-brady-testimony-not-as-glowing/

I don't know what the court charge(s) will be if Brady goes to court. However, if defamation is a part of it, every "a league source says" becomes potential ammunition.

However we need to bear this in mind:

In the NFL* kangaroo court, there is no set process, "due" or otherwise. Goodell set a low bar, failed to meet it, said he did, and we're off to the rodeo. Obviously the league* is in the position of being the "Plaintiff" but denies any burden of proof. Essentially they use the language of "investigation" but with no legal or scientific content.

In any court case, Brady and (if applicable) the NFLPA become the plaintiff. They will have to meet a burden of proof - so just saying "there were 125 leaks," well, you could get it into evidence. But there would be a heavy burden to prove that "sources" actually did come from the NFL.*

But if Brady's up for it, hell, I'm up for it. Looking forward to the League* being exposed as the capricious buttwipes they are... and I wouldn't mind Kraft being called to the stand to say what he "really" thinks (you know, what he thought before that "good for the 32" stuff flipped him around like a whore in a threesome.)

Also from the article:

Light was a former NFLPA player-representative, and said that in negotiations during the lockout in 2012 the commissioner would not relinquish the power to oversee appeals. The tackle called it a "deal-breaker" for Goodell, and rather than risking being locked-out for an entire season, the players obliged. Now, Light believes we are seeing the adverse effects of a man with too much power.
and

Light has a degree in industrial engineering, and says that Wells' science never added up.

"I think, finally the voice of reason is coming out," Light said. "Look, I'm a Purdue guy, an engineering guy. I understand a lot of the basic concepts that are in those reports, and the Wells Report has been flawed since the beginning. And how they handled this whole situation was completely flawed. I mean, they knew supposedly there was a problem, yet they did nothing? They had no controls over measuring the footballs and how they would judge the pressurization of the balls. It's really sad how the whole thing has been handled, and I think now people are getting the real story with real science behind it."
Interesting perspectives from Light. As a former NFLPA rep who participated in the 2012 negotiations, as well as an intelligent guy with an engineering degree, I think he's one of very few people who has a functional, real-life understanding of the various issues relating to Goodell and the Wells Report. He's right on the money here.

My first sergeant swears up and down Brady won't take this to court. I can't wait to rub that in his face when Brady does.

He would have had more airtime in these parts had he been anti-Pats.

Good for him for being honest, loyal and with integrity...unlike the rest of these low-lifes that spew garbage for the sake or ratings.

If Goody doesn't exonerate TB12, I will be shocked if he doesn't take this to court.

Thank you for your service!
Thanks, yeah same. I kinda don't want Goodell to do that. If he gets owned so badly in court it'd be great for the NFLPA to try to reduce his power and MAYBE even get the picks back. Anyone know what needs to happen for the court to look through Goodell and his henchmen's emails?

On a related note, I've kinda been expecting the NFLPA players' reps, at least, to be a bit more vocal in support of Brady here. Surprised that he union hasn't really closed ranks at all on this one, since this really is their best case to take this 'deal-breaker' away from Goodell.

Just need to subpoena the mail. The question is will the judge allow it and what is the prosecution's case? Defamation?

I wondered the same thing. Not sure if there is a reason. It's the off-season and people are worried about their own lives?
