BSPN: Brady not nominated for best champ performance or best male athlete

I don't think the GOAT needs to feel angry to be motivated. As Aaron Rodgers once said. You have to be self-motivated. Everytime I hear "I hope they come out angry" or something like that I roll my eyes. Sure anger is a motivator but each time you need to feel more angry to get that same motivation. Sooner or later that type of motivation wears thin. Self-motivation is the key for consistency and winning.

really? I didn't know that.....I thought pro athletes need to be angered just to get out of bed

but thanks for enlightening me.....

I don't mind the horse, there's a long history of horses getting the 'athlete' treatment in this country, it's pretty consistent with the past and he did win the triple crown.

But Lebron's 'championship performance'? Let's see, Brady had a middling first half then dominated in the second, his 4th quarter was arguably the best in SB history and he brought his team back from a 10-point deficit in the 4th quarter. Meanwhile Lebron was phenomenal carrying his team through the first three games then was sub-par as they lost three straight. He just wasn't good, period, as the Warriors stomped on the Cavs for three straight. yet somehow that's more impressive than kicking ass in the 4th quarter of the SB against one of the best defenses in NFL history.

ESPN is such...a...joke.

When people watch BSPN or NYFN, as far as I'm concerned, they deserve what they get. The same goes for those who watch what the NBA or MLB has to offer these days.

I think Bill Russel said it best when he was asked if he could guard Shaq. He said not if Shaq was allowed to lower his shoulder and run through him. Russell commented that if Wilt could have done that he would have scored 100 a night.

Russell also commented that LeBron couldn't guard him because he'd be winded by the 2nd half trying to keep up. Russell didn't comment on the constant travelling that LeBron gets away with though.

And while we're on the subject of LeBron, would it surprise anyone to see LeBron come back next year a lot leaner, now that the NBA might be going to a stricter drug policy?

I voted for Andrew Luck. After all, he valiantly fought the Patriots in the AFCCG using balls that defied the the Laws of Physics while the Cheatriots got to frolic with Gay-Lassac.

They have A-Roid as one of the 'Comeback Player' nominees

Well he is making a hell of a comeback this year. Must have found a great new supplier.

He's having a hell of a comeback season.

He's having a great season.

I'm actually a Yankees fan (I grew up outside the US so all my sports teams are scattered) but to positively acknowledge A-Rod "coming back" from a season long suspension for steroid use, while deliberately omitting Brady from the 'Best Male Athlete' or especially 'Best Championship Performance' for his legendary comeback in the 4th Q, in the SuperBowl, vs a top 5 defense of all time, is absolutely insane.

4th Qtr.
Down 24-14.
8 minutes to go vs the #1 defense in the NFL.

13-15 124yds 2TDs.

28-24. MVP

I'm sorry for the homer-ism but you can't get any more clutch when the chips are down than that on the biggest sports stage of the year.

I hate ESPN.

i would like to see the horse win everything. maybe pharaoh can make an appearance on stage hopefully he starts pissing on the ppl in the crowd.

Lebron? A god damn softball player?! Bahahahahahaha

Nonsense. Rodriguez missed an entire season, yet his batting average is higher than it's been since 2009, and he's playing significantly better than he was in 2013.

That's a great comeback season, completely independent of Brady.

Tom makes everyone but New England unhappy. I swear to you they will love it when he retires and after awhile they will never see the likes of him again. Will speak his name in reverence and realize how insanely jealous they were of him the whole time. It's a sad human nature that we are seeing more and more of. People love to break down greatness.

LMAO. a female college softball pitcher. Not sure if this is the right world for me anymore.

Who needs some silly espy award when you are a GOAT with 4 rings and 3 SB MVP.Brady already has the awards that matter.

I can't tell you when I last watched or listened to ESPN. I don't miss it at all.

He sure looked happy after the SB win.

Screw BSPN*, the NFL*, and Goodell*!

Who cares? Do people really watch the espys? Honestly I can say for certain I havent. It's some 2nd rate golden globe awards show anyway as far as I'm concerned.

I have 3 games to glory and Brady's memorial performance cemented in my memory forever. (Or at least as long as I have it) let them jackasses have their 3 hours of hohum blabla.
I'll take the championship every time.

Last thing ESPN did right was the Jimmy v foundation and now they have found a way to f that up too. Glamorized like a chandelier with a touch of look at us.

Btw I hope to god Gronkowski boycotts that shirade of an event. They would like nothing more than have Gronk and his cool self to make an appearance to give their show credence.
