Source: Brady's testimony "not entirely credible"

Liars lying. It's what they do.

I really hate this July quote getting used. If every word these guys texted was taken literally, would that mean one of them actually has Dorito's as a penis?

Bingo. Now we just need to have an investigation into which flavor it is. Original or cool ranch? Maybe that's why they want Brady's phone. Maybe they think he knows?

You forgot that this is America, where science is a matter of belief.

I know what you're saying, of course, but science always relies on assumptions and therefore belief to some extent; reason can never go all the way down.

There's a mythical element to numbers that makes people believe they don't contain value judgments and are purely objective. But that's kind of the whole point of science, that you use this methodology and lay your hypothesis, assumptions, data, and conclusions bare so people can look at your model, experimental design, or theoretical framework and say, "Hm, maybe not, let's look at this from another angle..."

Which is, of course, what has been done with science in this case. Wells brought forth his hypothesis, assumptions, data, and conclusions. They weren't convincing, and others have used the same set of data to come to vastly different - and more convincing - conclusions.

What you're talking about is politics, not science. This is about politics within NFL society. Wells was brought in to justify a punishment that emanates from power. He did so. The "science" is just justification for a causal narrative being used to make a political claim here.

The good thing about this is that there will be a transcript and people are free to talk then. I want one TV person to ask Goodell why they lied to the Patriots in the Jan 19 letter from the NFL on the PSI being at 10.1 and the Colts balls were fine. BTW the Patriots balls would have been at around 10.1 at the much colder Ravens game the week before. Yea no sting here.

And after the interview Goodell will ask the TV person what line of work he/ she will be pursuing now that they will no longer be working in TV journalism.

Brady's suspension isn't entirely credible.

Here, let me sum up yesterday's events:

Goodel: Mr. Brady, did you ask someone, whether directly or indirectly, to illegally tamper with gameballs in an effort to have them deflated past the regulated level?

Tom: No I did not.

Goodell: Liar.

And after the interview Goodell will ask the TV person what line of work he/ she will be pursuing now that they will no longer be working in TV journalism.

This is why we need real journalists, not the radio cable foaming at the mouth sports guys. Literally their actions could be a criminal attempt to tamper with a team before the Superbowl which has billions in bets placed on it.

Why would I go to that ****hole? I'm a Colts fan.

Prepare for an ass kicking again this fall & possibly winter if you're lucky enough to draw Peyton in the 1st round and last until Gillette

Which is why this whole appeal process is a sham .... why should anyone have to answer to the presumption of guilt? I can't think of anything more un-American

How about salary cap?

Can anyone set up a sports news channel with actual standards and see how it does ratings wise? I'm sure there must be a demand for one as I sense many people are exasperated with the crap that's on now.

Clearly posted by someone never hauled in front of the principal in school

In Boston, the sports radio station with the lowest standards is the current runaway ratings winner.

Maybe he did tell the deflators to lower the psi in the game balls. We don't have any evidence to prove he didn't.

Well, we do have evidence that your team's equipment manager illegally tampered with the Patriots ball that Jackson intercepted a few minutes before halftime.

Perhaps, if they had concentrated all of their effort on winning an AFCCG, instead of diverting time and resources conspiring with goons in the NYFL office to frame the Patriots, your Charmin- soft, whiny team would have only lost by four touchdowns instead of five and a half.

Just sayin'....

It's extremely hard to prove a negative (maybe even impossible in some cases). Do you have any proof there isn't a gigantic spaghetti monster in the sky watching us?
