BSPN: Brady not nominated for best champ performance or best male athlete

ESPN could do a "Best 6th Round NFL Draft Pick Of All Time" poll and Brady wouldn't be on it.

It's because of the children!

Not sure why you would subject yourself to BSPN or BSPN.com. I barley go to Grantland anymore either after Simmons was dumped. Plenty to see and read here.

Like most awards ceremonies, this isn't about recognizing or honoring achievement and greatness, it's about bringing attention to the people/places/things that the awards presenters want attention focused.

As others have noticed, a college softball player is nominated for "Best Championship Performance." By an amazing coincidence, ESPN broadcasts the college softball championships.

I voted for JJ Watt, his performance in the championship game was unreal.

Curry played like trash for a good portion of the finals and that was the only reason the Cavaliers, missing almost their entire starting line-up won a few games. The f!@king 6th man (first player off the bench) won the MVP over Curry. ESPN is an absolute joke.

The best part of cable TV finally dying? ESPN will become irrelevant. Hope this happens sooner than later.

This just depresses me.

Having awards for sports is the biggest joke there is.

One of the reasons I love sports is that it's all about what you actually DO and achieve, and nothing else. Eff awards.

Was Simmons dumped from Grantland? He started it, so I don't think he would fire himself.

Yeah, ESPN dumped Simmons. He started Grantland, but ESPN owns it, and has stated that Grantland will continue without him.

The leagues already hand these trophies out to the team and players that earned them. The fact that ESPN gives fans a Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards show for sports is beyond redundant considering sports is about winning trophies anyway.

To be fair, as much as I can't stand Curry, he's on there for 'Best Male Athlete' (his entire year) not 'Championship Performance' which he indeed sucked for most of the finals.

I really hope you're right about ESPN becoming irrelevant with cable TV dying.

I don't think the GOAT needs to feel angry to be motivated. As Aaron Rodgers once said. You have to be self-motivated. Everytime I hear "I hope they come out angry" or something like that I roll my eyes. Sure anger is a motivator but each time you need to feel more angry to get that same motivation. Sooner or later that type of motivation wears thin. Self-motivation is the key for consistency and winning.

He's having a hell of a comeback season.

I voted for JJ Watt and American Pharaoh. The triple crown hadn't been achieved in 37 years and JJ Watt is a better athlete.
