Sorry, I just cannot get my hopes up while waiting.

Goodell is not going to overrule Goodell. This is a dog and pony show, just a dress rehearsal for the trial to follow. They may even be trying not to give away too much of their trial strategy. Brady is not giving up unless there is no suspension, there is no fine, and the words "Tom Brady did nothing" actually come from Goodell's mouth. Since that isn't happening, it will have to come from an independent arbitrator or Federal judge at a much later date.

Time hasn’t been an issue today, despite the 4- hour framework. Brady and the NFLPA are able to call every witness they want to call

We're not going back to the moon, are we ? Society's too busy spending 5M$ on 243 pages of this.

You may be right. With that said if they want to declare war and this goes to court, TB12 COULD miss games late in the season. Not sure TB12 wants to run that risk...
Given the science, I think that probability is low. I don't know the law, so that might make it more possible/probable of an outcome.
There is a certain parallelism in all this though, when you think about Kraft and Brady. Sure, they both live under the Patriots brand, but Kraft made clear that he is a member of the Club of 32, first and foremost. I am pretty sure that the NFLPA has made it clear to Brady that he is a member of the Club of Players, first and foremost.
It would be interesting to see if Brady comes out with a parallel statement to the one that Kraft made at the owner's meeting. This is not what I want to do, but what I must do. I hope you all trust me and will be patient.

I know this is just a waste of time procedural step that needs to be taken before Brady can file suit but is it too much to hope for that we get at least some good news out of today?

Well, Reiss provided some earlier.

Not one thing has gone our way this entire time. Even Andy Dufresne couldn't convince me that hope is worthwhile.

Mcnally and the other man (sorry, i try but i cant spell his last name) are present as witnesses?

He said it was a good day but the NFL held all the cards. To me that means brady probably made the NFL look like fools but the outcome will still be brady having to take this to court because Goodell doesn't have it in him to reduce the suspension to zero games

Go figure, in 4+ hours the NFLPA was able to call all the witnesses that they planned to call in the 4 hours they were instructed they would have.

Probably never occurred to corky over here that they might have wanted to call more witnesses, but knew that they wouldn't have time.
