And I don't even get why they did it. If it weren't for the PSI leaks and all the other misinformation that came out from NFL officials during the campaign, I would be 100% certain that this is a case of the right hand not knowing what the left is doing, rather than a malicious lie. Even if Schefter didn't have the letter on hand, think about how easy this would have been for Kessler and Brady to refute just a few hours after getting out of the hearing, and with hard evidence including a letter from the NFL league office's attorney. If it really is a planned lie, it's a super incompetent and pointless one. And for what? So they can say that they were willing to give Brady 7 hours to make his case instead of 4? Is that worth the risk of being publicly embarrassed like this? I just don't get what the commissioner's office is doing right now.
