The beating was going to happen anyways bud. And the NFL* are ok with it. Nothing comes in front of money. NFL acts like it values morality above money but they don't. They were only reactive towards the wifebeater because the outcry which would have cost the NFL money not because they care about the morality. If the NFL had it their way they'd cover up all the wifebeatings, child beatings, rape, etc. It's bad business for the public to know about them. Money over morality is the NFL* 's moto. And it's not a joke, it's seriously true.
You're right. Only football pressure and other important things are a MAJOR concern of the morally superior MFL

His behavior before and after the Rice/Peterson fiascos don't support this idea. He might not like the black-eye the NFL gets, but he certainly relishes in the opportunity to display his power in making examples of players (not owners). The way this ****bag throws around terms like "integrity of the game" while dispensing injustices is a pretty clear indication that this guy doesn't give a **** about anything besides himself.
So Goodell wants Ray Rice, Ray McDonald, Greg Hardy and AP to play football?

Before the tapes were released to the public, did it look like Goodell wanted to prevent Rice from playing? If you think Goodell gives a **** about players' character, I can get you an excellent deal on a slightly used bridge.

Absolutely correct sir. Remember the Raven's player Ray Lewis who Goodell embraced. The only difference between him and Hernandez is that he did a better job of destroying evidence.

In the Rice situation, Biscotti (ESPN OTL report) influenced him. That is what I meant in my original comment on the thread.

Gotta be honest. I watch that video and I don't get the freeze frames. I can't tell what the hell is happening nor can I assign a guilty party even if I for some reason wanted to. It just looks like a giant cluster**** and one of the people involved plays for the NFL, and now it's on the internet.

People go outside and **** happens.

I hear ya. I can't go two weeks without hitting people with my belt.

People nitpick about everything that ends up in the internet.

If this was 20 years ago it would of just been some crazy **** that happened at a beach once. Now instead it's an eternal moment we're all obligated to sift through and sort and assign guilty verdicts on.

I'm honestly so over it. I'm not anyone's judge just because I pay comcast monthly.

Agreed. One of the worst side effects of technology is that people are more likely to be held accountable for their actions.

Seriously, I can get you a great deal on that bridge.

I do agree with you that Goody doesn't give a rat's ass about a player's character.

What he does care deeply about (I think?) is how the owners are impacted financially and the overall marketing brand of the league.

If stuff can get swept under the rug and the owners can guarantee containment, so be it. If they can't then Goody's hammer comes down and he gets to play Mr. Tough Guy who can't get out of his own goddamn way.

Someone seems determined to ruin him it has to be a woman man hell hath no fury.
