or he must own some embarrassing and valuable pictures of Kraft or BB doing something that they shouldn't have done.

We've all seen that already......

My brother in-law has hung out with him a few times including attending a couple of (non-Pats) games with him and claims he is a really nice, down to earth, humble guy. Obligatory 2nd hand info grain of salt but he's one of the all time good guys so I tend to take his word for it.
So am I a really nice down to earth guy. And I'm not even in the hunt.

Neither Davis nor Bequette was making the team. Davis is the veteran so he is cut first to be
able to catch on with another team before training camp. Have you ever noticed at the 75 man
cut there are surprises while UDFAs with no chance of making the team are retained for a few more days?

Let's face it. Neither Bequette nor Davis were likely to make the final 53 man roster. Barring one of the young guys shining in the preseason, the TE group is going to be Gronk, Chandler, and Hooman.
Hooman and Derby is your camp battle.

Wright and Davis cut within a week of each other. AJ Derby showing some promise to BB and McDaniels?

I just think if you are going to more of a 2 TE passing game with Gronk and Chandler you need a 3rd receiving TE to back them up and Hoomanuwai doesn't give you that. Wright and Davis fit that so with the now cut makes you think if Derby is showing something.

I'm rooting for Derby. I like his upside.

First things first - players need to perform and provide value. Bequette has been on the fence in that regard for a couple of years now.

However the team feels that he has consistently improved as a football player and still has some untapped potential. The fact that he is a hard worker, smart, great teammate and does everything the coaching staff asks of him are the main reasons why he is still in Foxboro.

Agreed on all points. Was just replying to the poster who said he must be a great guy.

I swear, the more I think about it, the more I convince myself Bequette will make the team if he is even a halfway decent TE. Can't imagine Bill passing up the chance to back up two positions but only use one roster spot.

But in reality, we all know this is because Jimmay Mundine is the next great NFL TE.

Yeah I give Derby a chance at it.

That is why I said unless one of the young guys impress. Otherwise, Derby may be practice squad material.

Hard to disagree with you here, particularly since Derby isn't even practicing, and would make a fine PS candidate.

I was chatting with a knowledgable Pats guy in NYC today. I asked how exactly do you cover Gronk and Chandler split out in a slot stack? No answer but he flashed a huge grin that seemed to stretch to Indianapolis. :)

Are you 6'4" 260 lbs with (alleged) athletic ability? If so give BB a call and tell him how nice you are.
Subtract 6 inches of height, 90 lbs. of weight and only enough athletic ability to gain a spot on my Division 2 college baseball team as a non-scholarship walk-on. I'm afraid I, and the Pats, are screwed...:)

Bequette is the smoking gun in deflategate. He was crapping in the stall while McNally was deflating the balls. The Patriots confiscated his cell phone and d guaranteed him a roster spot to keep him quiet

Obviously.. can you rush the passer?
