Chandler turning heads at OTAs

@MikeReiss: TE Scott Chandler was dialed in with QB Tom Brady today before coming off with an injury late. Was holding right side of body.

No other new on injury..hopefully nothing and if it's something..lucky it's early EARLY in OTAs

Gronkowski and Hoomanawanui were probably already the best TE duo in the NFL, just by virtue of the fact that the duo includes Gronk :D

Imagine if somehow you had GRONK, Chandler, Hoomanawanui, and Bequette as the tight ends. It'd be GRONKlerquetteawanui. :p

Ugh hoping the injury is just a bump or bruise. At least we didn't just cut our number two TE from last year and have 1/3 of the league put in a waiver claim for him.

I read today that the concern is regarding his ribs, but that was just a quick blurb from a beat writer.

As far as releasing Wright, the "joke" may be on the other 1/3 of the league in this case, since he's somewhat limited in his role at TE with the poor blocking issues. Tampa Bay was attempting to incorporate him as a pure WR last summer before trading him, so it's possible that they'll go back to that idea again. I think he had some potential in certain areas as we saw from last season, but I'm not sure that he was what Bill wanted in terms of a TE.

I don't remember Wright ever being the #2 TE.

Behind Gronk he was next most productive TE with 26 receptions and 6 TDs. Hooman had 3 catches. Say what you want about Wright's blocking, but he was the #2 TE on the team even if he faded down the stretch.

Most productive in receiving yes. Nothing else. If he had earned the legit #2 spot on the depth chart he would still be with New England. No way he would have taken the #1 TE spot if Gronk went down.

Depends what you measure. Hooman played 41,8% of the snaps last year. Wright played 31%. So Hooman played more than Wright, by quite a good margin.
